Called a woman an "evil bitch!"

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 13:40

Posted this in "other subjects" but didn't get a response in 4 minutes and I'm feeling impatient!

I was coming out of a car park earlier today and there was car in the lane next to mine. A woman was driving and a small child (2/3ish) was climbing about inside the car and not strapped in. I hate it when you see that as it's so stupid and irresponsible! A child around here died not that long ago in a similar situation. So anyway being a big mouth this happened . . . I honked my horn to get her attention and said -

me: strap your child in, that's dangerous and illegal
her: oh SHUT UP!
me: you EVIL BITCH! (top of my lungs! Blush)

Now I know some won't agree with the language but, well, I don't care about that. As far as I am concerned she is an evil bitch so why shouldn't I tell her I think so! One emergency stop and that child would either go though the windscreen or hit the dashboard (as the other child did) and break her neck Sad

Being called a bitch was getting off lightly when she came very closs to being beaten to death with my flip flop!!!

Whatever. You asked if YABU and I really think you were.

As I said, if you had spoken to me like that I would have thought you had some MH issues.

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 14:42

ShirleyKnot You would have thought I had mental health issues for being angry at you for driving with an unrestrained child in the car and so endangering their life?! Hang on a minute . . . you do that don't you! You're one of those people who let their kids bounce about in the car! You should be ashamed Angry

AlpinePony · 11/07/2011 14:43

YABU.

But as you posed this simply to try and receive a rousing response of "you go babes" - I imagine you'll just swear at me for saying as much.

ShirleyKnot · 11/07/2011 14:46

Haha! See? That's just insane. No, I have always ensured my children are strapped up so chill out a bit on the and the I FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR CHILDREN bit for a second.

Calling a stranger an EVIL BITCH is unreasonable, especially when it was in front of her child.

Do you see now?

YARBOOOOOOOO!

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 14:48

AlpinePony What I actually thought would happen is that most people would ignore the fact that the woman was endangering her kids life, and leap on the fact that I swore at her (if bitch is a swear word, not really sure), which is exactly what happened and what always happens on here. It's like MN users think there is no crime that can possibly be worse then swearing (shock horror). I can tell you though that a kid going flying through a windscreen at 100 miles an hour is definately worse then swearing.

I also thought there would be a few who would be able to see the point through all the swearword hysteria and there are. I was spot on!

Shirley If you say so! We've only your word on that.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/07/2011 14:52

I can't see why anyone would call someone an evil bitch. OP you do sound unreasonable aggressive tbh.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/07/2011 14:53

Bastards

Fuckers

Arseholes.

I can swear with the rest of 'em, have no problems with swearing.

BUT I do have problems with people shouting abuse at perfect strangers in front of their children.
How horrible for that kid to see a red faced gorgon shouting at their mother.

itisnearlysummer · 11/07/2011 14:53

I can't believe anyone still does drive around with their children not strapped in. I don't think I would have shouted "evil bitch" but I can't believe people still ignore this basic and easily followed advice/law. It's a bit of a why wouldn't you?

I know that I got quite cross with someone who'd parked inconsiderately the other day and he moved his car as a result. So she might have strapped the child in as a result of the OP's comment.

I suppose the OP had felt a bit Shock at seeing the child not strapped in and then even more Shock at the drivers response. In which case, an adrenaline rush would have made her react in a way she might not have done ordinarily.

So GetOrf if someone pointed out to you that your child was in danger would your reaction be to tell them to "shut up"? Or would it be to deal with it. I know which mine would be. She made it clear that she didn't car that her kid was in danger so yes that justifies people getting very angry with you!

If you're so convinced you were right, why ask if YWBU?

Shirley, you drive and eat Greggs sausage rolls while slurping fruit shoots. Don't try to deny it.

ShirleyKnot · 11/07/2011 14:55

SHUT UP GETORF YOU EVIL BITCH.

see? It works quite well actually. SHUT UP BOSS YOU EVIL BITCH!! OI! POSTWOMAN - EVIL BITCH!

WhipMeIndiana · 11/07/2011 14:56

shirl - I

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 14:57

GetOrfMoiLand How horrible for that kid to see a red faced gorgon shouting at their mother.

Or, how horrible for that child to be killed/scared for life/left disabled.

OP posts:
ShirleyKnot · 11/07/2011 14:58

"red faced gorgon" did me do a lol. Angry < REDFACEDGORGON FACE

Chickjens - SHUT UP YOU EVIL BITCH.

I also drive with all the doors open sometimes and I say to the children "JUMP OUT! JUMP OUT OF THE CAR!!"

That's how irresponsible I am.

WhipMeIndiana · 11/07/2011 14:58

there's far too much anger in the world

if someone told me my child was in danger I'd probably tell them to mind their own, tbh

in the same situation I'd have probably pointed to child and said 'ooh looks like child is loose in car' but probably wouldnt have noticed as would be too busy driving safely in my own car........

I fucking knew it, Shirl

WhipMeIndiana · 11/07/2011 14:59

'gorgon' is indeed a retro and much underused insult

*note to self red -haired gorgon, rebekah brooks

WhipMeIndiana · 11/07/2011 15:02

ive seen one family do this in manchester, they piled into a car after seeing the doctor and shoved toddler into rear seat well

I was a bit Shock but wouldnt have shouted

there is a generational side to this, my mother always had us loose in the car a few times; before the law changed so for her it wouldnt have been such a big deal

LauLauLemon · 11/07/2011 15:03

YANBU but YABU to believe everyone needs to hear your opinion. I would have just reported her.

& you shouldn't drive in flip flops.
