Called a woman an "evil bitch!"

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 13:40

Posted this in "other subjects" but didn't get a response in 4 minutes and I'm feeling impatient!

I was coming out of a car park earlier today and there was car in the lane next to mine. A woman was driving and a small child (2/3ish) was climbing about inside the car and not strapped in. I hate it when you see that as it's so stupid and irresponsible! A child around here died not that long ago in a similar situation. So anyway being a big mouth this happened . . . I honked my horn to get her attention and said -

me: strap your child in, that's dangerous and illegal
her: oh SHUT UP!
me: you EVIL BITCH! (top of my lungs! Blush)

Now I know some won't agree with the language but, well, I don't care about that. As far as I am concerned she is an evil bitch so why shouldn't I tell her I think so! One emergency stop and that child would either go though the windscreen or hit the dashboard (as the other child did) and break her neck Sad

Being called a bitch was getting off lightly when she came very closs to being beaten to death with my flip flop!!!

she might have been a bit absent-minded after just hearing very bad news on said phone before driving off

Pagwatch · 11/07/2011 16:03

Grin at the idea the mn has a problem with swearing.

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 16:06

Pagwatch It reminds me of that thread where the OP saw a woman being horrible to her child on a train station platform and knocked a bottle of drink out of his mouth. All anyone went on about in the thread was that the OP shouldn't have sworn at the woman when she confronted her about it.

VelvetSnow · 11/07/2011 16:07

Not MN swearing hysteria at all IMO.

It's actually about how people like to be treated, with a bit of fucking respect!

You clearly have issues OP what with your quick temper and obvious impatience.

But let's just use your "Oh I have a quick temper" as an excuse to act unreasonably whenever you like.

May I also say, perhaps contraversially, that I bet if you were to see the local news tonight and the mother and child were in a dreadful crash - mother surviving and child perishing, your response would be "I told you so" and not "oh how awful - how can I get a campaign started for mothers to be reeducated about travelling with children in car seats."

Just my opinion

I know what my immediate reaction would be.

lovecorrie · 11/07/2011 16:08

I wasn't really wishing death on an old lady, it was an old man anyway, and he was swearing at me too - it was the uncouth rude and ignorant taxi driver. I was over the top and angry . I am nice usually.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 11/07/2011 16:12

lovecorrie you didn't really apologise did you, you did an 'apologetic face' whatever one of those is. Then you effed and jeffed at an elderly man who 'glared' at you. You sound LOVELY.

And anyway Shirley doesn't strap her kids in, she ties them to the roof-rack.

unpa1dcar3r · 11/07/2011 16:16

I told her that her child being free in the car was dangerous, how could I have been more constructive then that! She was the one who told me to SHUT UP, proving that she thought it was fine in her eyes!

Not necessarily. I would've told you to shut up too if I already knew my kid had unstrapped itself, as they do, and was climbing about, and someone went and stated the bloody obvious!
Like when someone says 'your kids screaming' when its in the buggy. No sh*t Sherlock! Grin

Think if I'd have shouted out like the other poster about the taxi driver being this and that, my MIl would've died on the spot....hmmm, now then (laughs evily)

Ormirian · 11/07/2011 16:20

I still don't understand why anything she did made her 'evil' or even a 'bitch' Confused . Nothing like a bit of sanctimony allied to some vile mysogynistic language to help your cause...

But fwiw I don't think it is anything to do with disliking swearing -at least for me it isn't.
It is that swearing your mouth off won't work. You just threw her into a defensive attitude -she is telling people about the vulgar idiot who called her a bitch in front of her child.
So the indignation you felt at her endangering her child was rendered ineffectual by your being aggressive and mouthy. You felt better for venting at her but you haven't helped the child any.

Bit of a waste of time really.

Hullygully · 11/07/2011 16:24

Wot Pag said (irritatingly)

allegrageller · 11/07/2011 16:24

YABU. You're not the police- and I agree entirely with prettyfly and pagwatch.

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 16:25

VelvetSnow Where did you get impatience from?

that I bet if you were to see the local news tonight and the mother and child were in a dreadful crash - mother surviving and child perishing, your response would be "I told you so"

That is as far from the truth as you can get and actually a really nasty thing to say about me. Yes I have a quick temper and yes I got angry at the stupid woman, and yes perhaps I could have approached it slightly differently, but that's no need to be so nasty to me and come to such a horrible conclusion about what sort of a person I am.

OP posts:
SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 16:26

allegrageller I am not the police? Yeah your right about that. But what the hell has that got to do with anything?!

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 11/07/2011 16:29

What 'type of person are you?'

The type who screams abuse in the street.

Do you want a pastie with that?

ShirleyKnot · 11/07/2011 16:29

I saw that dickie.

reelingintheyears · 11/07/2011 16:29

Yes you could have approached it differently.

And now you're getting upset and defensive at being attacked on here for your behaviour.

Just like the 'evil bitch' did.

reelingintheyears · 11/07/2011 16:30

Shirley...
You sound better back to normal.

Have you sacked the nightnurse yet?

SquiggleSplat · 11/07/2011 16:32

reelingintheyears And you know why? Because what I did can't possibly leave a child dead or disabled.

You guys carry on.

OP posts:
MooMooFarm · 11/07/2011 16:33

Hmm OP YABU. She probably isn't 'evil' or a 'bitch', but sounds pretty stupid. And you need to calm down. All that anger is bad for your blood pressure. Deep breaths now.

reelingintheyears · 11/07/2011 16:34

Meh.

You asked iywbu.

You don't like the replies.

Hey Ho.

VelvetSnow · 11/07/2011 16:36

"VelvetSnow Where did you get impatience from?"

Eh, from the first line of you OP

ShirleyKnot · 11/07/2011 16:40

reeling - YES. No more NightNurse for me for a while. Seriously that stuff is AMAZEBALLS.

HerRoyalNotness · 11/07/2011 16:41

Gosh OP you are getting a really hard time. I for one, would be grateful if you pointed out that one of my children was unrestrained in the back seat and I was too much of a dick not to notice myself.

For all you posters saying well, kids get themselves out you know, what are you supposed to do, someone down thread solved her problem by making a zipper to go over the buckle. I'm sure if you google, you'll find products that help with this too. A bit of commonsense goes a long way.
