What other types of mother are there?

Can I be 'nice cool feet, really ugly sandals' mum? Grin

DarftApeth · 27/06/2011 12:26

I am sitting here grooming my toe and leg hair. Have applied tons of frizz-ease to it so my legs and toes look good in my birkies when i am on the school run later.

It is now thick, lustrous and shiny

Am I the only one who finds birkis uncomfortable? Can't stand the toe mould.

reelingintheyears · 27/06/2011 20:18

Toe mould?

Adair · 27/06/2011 20:31

Do you mean mouldy toes? or the mould that the toes fit into? (mine don't have either. They aren't even real birkenstocks but cheap fakes )

Hannah31 · 27/06/2011 20:33

Birks rule!

fifitot · 27/06/2011 21:24

I actually find Fitflops are the sandal of choice for most of the mums round our way now. Birkies are out it seems.

I love them myself but also like Uggs, Crocs and Converse - whatever that means!

My Birkies are wonderful, wear them all the time and own them in a multitude of colours. I have smooth legs, good ankles and very pedicured tanned feet.

What I don't have are corns, callouses and blisters from ramming my feet in tight strappy and high heeled sandals in 33 degrees of heat Grin.

Bogeyface · 27/06/2011 21:47

Today i went out in my baggy flared jeans, tie die top (that I havent worn for years but post birth its one of the few things that fit), my clog style birkies, with my baby in my coach built silver cross pram lying on a home made candy striped sheet that i made from a cut down bed sheet, whilst she was wearing her cloth nappies and a playsuit.

We looked like we had just been transported from the 70's......not a good look, not good at all....

TimeWasting · 27/06/2011 21:54

Bogey, that sounds great. Grin

I've been wearing Birkenstocks for about 13 years, I didn't start wearing them because they were fashionable, and couldn't give a fuck if they aren't considered fashionable now.

MilaMae · 27/06/2011 21:59

EWWWW did you have to do the jam sponge link. It's taken me long enough to come to terms with moon cup usage.

Bogeyface · 27/06/2011 22:10

Mila - did YOU have to make the Jam sponge link sound interesting enough to look at? :o

choccyp1g · 27/06/2011 22:16

It was meant to be a joke about "pulling them off" .....

MilaMae · 27/06/2011 22:17

Erm Bogey I dare you to look at the FAQs.

The fact that the description of the red "shimmery" carry bag is there is bad enough or maybe even the knowledge that there are jam sponge wearer badges one can purchase. However what really made me want to throw up my risotto was the absorbancy test pics!!!!!!!!

Go on look-I dare you!

Bogeyface · 27/06/2011 22:44

Aunt Flo answering the FAQ in a "jokey" way makes me feel more sick than the absorbency test, but its a close run thing! :o

reelingintheyears · 27/06/2011 22:48

I bet Bogeyface looked hot.

Earth Mothers rule. Smile

reelingintheyears · 27/06/2011 22:51

And i will always love my Birkenstock Papillios....

Bogeyface · 27/06/2011 23:07

Reeling, I am totally not an earth mother on the basis that am ...... ahem.....a friend of {whispers} ....avent Shock

And I didnt look hot, I looked like I got dressed in the dark! But I do love my birkies!

allhailtheaubergine · 28/06/2011 05:02

Clogs are no good in the summer - anything closed toe ballses up my pedicure.

LindsayWagner · 28/06/2011 07:45

aubergine - look at these lovelies. I have the red ones.

cantpooinpeace · 28/06/2011 07:53

I love my Birkies & often admire other Birkies.........I think they look wicked (apart from with socks).

allhailtheaubergine · 28/06/2011 08:49
