Timewasting - me too. I comb it out once a week.

emmanana · 26/06/2011 18:06

I buy a couple of pairs of Birkis a year, so have about 20 pairs in various colours/styles. They wear so well. I also have plantar fasciitis, so they are really comfortable, but wore them long before I had it.

On the list of things I give a shit about, what people think of my shoes comes about 686....

allhailtheaubergine · 26/06/2011 18:06

I bought my first ever pair of Birkies yesterday! White patent one-strap.

tinkertitonk · 26/06/2011 18:09

What is a droopy "mom"? I mean, which bits?

sungirltan · 26/06/2011 18:15

i have black patent birks and they are very cool! one of mum ums friend wears the knackered brown leather ones and still looks quite hot.

i could quite fancy dh in birks - never crocs

i agree thoughj if you wear any toe exposing footwear cut your bloody toenails and exfoliate your feet! toenail varnish even better but basre nails better that growing out chipped varnish

VeraGood · 26/06/2011 18:46

Droopy mum
Is the one who obsessed over hats and sun cream. Wears white stuff. Always has z rice cake about her person. Has frap social life " because we can't bear to leave the kids"

Vera lights touchpaper

GetOrf · 26/06/2011 18:49

Obsessed with organic
Wooden ethnic jewellery
Not much makeup going on
Could do with frizz ease
Either stick thin or could do with dropping half a stone

DarrellRivers · 26/06/2011 18:49

I, rather reluctantly, have to agree
I love my Birkenstocks
They are so comfortable
But have had to down grade them to garden wear and household wearing in v hot weather
Sorry

CQrrrnee · 26/06/2011 18:55

my pair are mainly for garden duty - they just don't look right when I look down. Most people look frumpy in birkies though one mum at school always looks really nice - she always has tidy feet and painted nicely nails though not like me
on the plus side this thread has reminded me of the white jeans I bought last year and haven't worn yet

MayorNaze · 26/06/2011 19:00

I WEAR BIRKIES

i am vair vair cool and hip

not a rice cake in sight and shitloads of slap on me mug to boot

CQrrrnee · 26/06/2011 19:03

I bet Kerry Katona wears birkies when the cameras aren't pointed at her.

CQrrrnee · 26/06/2011 19:04

Although Kate Middleton is a no.

tigermummy35 · 26/06/2011 19:04

I love them so much I even got married in a white pair and I'm "none of the above Mum" :)

CocktailQueen · 26/06/2011 19:05

I like my silver toepost Birkies and I think my feet look lovely in them with my French pedi :) Better than teetering on the school run in stilettoes, no?

cece · 26/06/2011 19:06

I don't care what other people think - I love my birkies and will not stop wearing them. Smile

irishqueen · 26/06/2011 19:07

Parents loudly! Flaps boobs about has either shite old nokia or I phone! Gives other mums scathing looks if they buy sweets! Looks sympathetically at me for being a divorcee (I am a breast feeding lentil weaver type but do brush hair and even wear a dress sometimes)

sungirltan · 26/06/2011 19:40

i have some white stuff clothes. i also own a vat of frizz ease/ghds, wear make up at about 10k worth of jewellery (not wooden). i dont have either a nokia (such a martyr!) or an iphone (i'm a sahm ffs do i need one?'). i don't entirely believe in sun cream and dd wont wear a hat.

i dont think you can stereotype birks since all the bright colours came out. i could write a big list about people who have phill and teds prams though.....

emmanana · 26/06/2011 20:00

I often look on ebay for (new) Birky bargains. It always amazes me the number of people who pay £15+ for a second hand well worn pair. As they would not be worn with tights/socks, I couldn't walk around with other peoples sweat on my feet. Am I being too anal?
I fully understand some people can't afford new shoes, but if you're paying £15 for 2nd hand shoes?

MamaG · 26/06/2011 20:15

Getorf were you prev ...moiland? If so if not

GetOrf · 26/06/2011 20:28

Yes MamaG that's me - right back atcha, cleopatra.

WHY are you not on MN more often?

Becauseiamworthit · 26/06/2011 20:30

Got nothing against them, but I've got rather large feet so just don't think they would look right on me.

Lara2 · 26/06/2011 22:24

I love mine and (sticking my head out for a kicking here) I love my Crocs!!!

Since I slipped a disc and trapped and damaged my sciatic nerve (leaving most of my right leg and foot numb) they're the only shoes I can bear to wear for any length of time once the weather gets warmer.

smartyparts · 26/06/2011 22:31

I love mine and think they look nice. Flip flops kill me with all that toe scrunching they necessitate.

I am obsessed about having no hard skin on my feet.

MamaG · 27/06/2011 07:45

You'll be pleased to know I'll prob be on more now there's an app getord (ARF)
