I have fit flops. Ugly but sooo comfy. I have the brwon ones without the horrid logo thingy. I do have pretty shoes with heels too and love strappy, flimsy sandals. I don't why wearing White stuff is so frumpsome. I have a lovely white stuff tunic (snigger) It is a hippy mum uniform but I like it and it dosn't make me feel droopy. Velour tracksuit and fags= droopy imo.

ElizabethDarcy · 27/06/2011 08:10

I wear crocs and birks.... they're in funky colours and ooooh so comfy.

DarftApeth · 27/06/2011 08:47

Have just realised that I bought my papillios in White Stuff Shock

Does that make me doubly droopy? [droopy emoticon]

ElizabethDarcy · 27/06/2011 08:52

I'll join you!

Goldenbear · 27/06/2011 09:00

IMO Alot of people cannot wear Gladiator sandals as you need incredibly good ankles to Pull them off and by that i don't mean you have to be thin with slender legs as these people still Don't necessarily have attractive ankles. Therefore, they are not an alternative.

spookshowangel · 27/06/2011 09:03

have no idea what these are....i take it that means i'm cool???

spookshowangel · 27/06/2011 09:04

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh jesus sandals i see.

Riveninside · 27/06/2011 09:07

I love my birkies and i am none of the OP' s 'mums'
But they make my feet spasm.
:(

BuffyJ · 27/06/2011 09:38

I love mine but DP refers to them as my "fat lady shoes".

ThatllDoPig · 27/06/2011 09:44

I don't get it?! read most of this thread, but what. . . .~?
What do 'normal' non droopy mums wear then?
Confused

SpringHeeledJack · 27/06/2011 09:44

I've been wearing 'em for years- I used to wear 'em clubbing Grin

ditto converse

I am consciously chosing to believe that, in wearing them, I am still young and stylish. Honest.

tho in fact fit into category 3 of OP list

CrapolaDeVille · 27/06/2011 09:49

I consider myself pretty glamorous and never look 'droopy' or 'momlike' and wear pearly pink flip flop style birkenstocks....although now prefer my blinged havanias....complete with swarovski crystals!! <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.blogcdn.com/www.thatsfit.com/media/2009/02/swarovski-crystal-havaianas.jpg&imgrefurl=www.thatsfit.com/photos/havaianas-the-worlds-best-rubber-flip-flops/1378348/&h=218&w=383&sz=17&tbnid=g2mX6zPXtfiTrM:&tbnh=70&tbnw=123&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dswarovski%2Bhavaianas%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=swarovski+havaianas&usg=__bLHwsyala6fqQW4sNqAygq8llD8=&sa=X&ei=rUMITtjOE4uKhQecoazYDQ&ved=0CIUBEPUBMAg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here

You have to pretend you are not a mum and wear fashionable clothes and make-up AT ALL TIMES. I suspect it is all much easier when you are not the mother of young children. Rice cakes are essential for a short period - looking forward to when i no longer need them and can judge others for being in a different life phase of sleep deprivation and nappies frumpy mums... Wink

People will judge, let 'em i say

choccyp1g · 27/06/2011 09:57

Don't the straps undo for taking them on and off ??

MamaG · 27/06/2011 10:02

See I keep seeing the word "funky" crop up that somehow makes I worse.

Sharney · 27/06/2011 10:05

Own and regularly wear, birks, fitflops, uggies. I, like the obviously fabulous Timewasting and alistron1 hardly ever comb my hair, I hardly ever wash it either, just lashings of conditioner. Also don't care what you wear on your feet and don't care what you think of my footwear choices. Still if you don't mind being shallow and judgemental over something as frivolous as ummmm..... footwear. Well I don't care! Cheers.

AchtungBaby · 27/06/2011 10:09

Yep, popular = rubbish, clearly Hmm.

I could go on, but I can't be bothered. OP, I'm surprised that you could TBH.

NorksAkimbo · 27/06/2011 10:09

I own Birks, summer crocs AND crocs that are all closed up to be worn with socks...perfect for damp English weather! I'm not droopy...my hair is cropped and very cute, and though I am a jeans and t-shirt gal, I accessorise and make the most of my breezy casual style.

So, nerr Grin

VeraGood · 27/06/2011 11:34

YUP
the funky word is a killer

Fimbo · 27/06/2011 11:39

Bang on trend, sets my teeth on edge.

What are the penis Birkies? Are they the gizehs? If so I admit to having them on right now. Have 2 pairs and the madrids.

Goldenbear · 27/06/2011 11:42

choccypg1, i really wouldn't know, i am no Gok, the ones i have seen on women seem to fit tightly around the trotter unflatteringly shoved in them!

Droopy mum
Is the one who obsessed over hats and sun cream. Wears white stuff. Always has z rice cake about her person. Has frap social life " because we can't bear to leave the kids"

ROAR!!! Grin Grin

Do you have a spy cam in my house???

BsshBossh · 27/06/2011 11:51

"Birkies with a groomed foot look okay IMO" - yes, absolutely agree. My friend wears pretty summer dresses with silver or white Birkies and immaculate painted toenails and she looks gorgeous and well-groomed.

OP, though you are being very judgy-pants I do secretly agree with you Grin.

I'm quite a vain person and think good grooming is even more essential when you become a parent because it's easy to let standards drop.

Riveninside · 27/06/2011 11:54

What on earth is wro g with looking'like a mum'? And what does that look like excatly?

Goldenbear · 27/06/2011 11:56

If you mean that you Can get the strap off.....yes you Can but wouldn't that look...well..like you have forgotton to wear the strap on a pair of gladiator sandals or that you believe you have fat ankles and Can't carry these shoes off but you will have to wear then now as you have bought them now and it is too late.
