to hate shaving my lady garden, but do it anyway because DP likes it

Its awkward, it itches like a bastard when it grows back and looks daft but DP REALLY likes it, and it has a forgone conclusion Grin AIBU to do something that i dont particularly like to arouse my partner - akin to making him a cup of tea, its nice to do things for people you love. Or am i letting the side down?

It's up to you. Seems weird to me but whatever floats your boat.

OnlyWantsOne · 10/06/2011 22:03

Itchy Smile

RevoltingPeasant · 10/06/2011 22:03

Hmm, I wouldn't

TMI

Personally, I get mad ingrown hairs. I get these no matter religiously I exfoliate. And they turn into little nasty cysty pus-filled nodule type things, and are really sore.

So I don't anymore. People have told me if you do it enough the itching stops etc. Bollox, life is too short. Frankly, if you're going to put the time in, take a yoga class and learn to do it yourself.

And the tea analogy is flawed: making a cup of tea doesn't feel like putting ants up your wizard's sleeve, does it....

squeakytoy · 10/06/2011 22:05

It is true, if you do it every three days or so, the itching and rash and ingrowing hairs does stop after a couple of weeks... I would only trim the undercarriage though...

passivelyaggresive · 10/06/2011 22:05

pmsl at wizards sleeve - its not a great image lolol

Prepubescence.

eww

vigglewiggle · 10/06/2011 22:06

If you don't like it, don't do it. Are you completely shaving or just 'tidying'. If the former, i'd be slightly worried about his desire for me to look pre-pubescent TBH.

flamegirl77 · 10/06/2011 22:06

I wouldn't but if you think it's worth it then YANBU. Does your DP inconvenience himself for YOUR pleasure?

Pumpernickel10 · 10/06/2011 22:08

I shave for me not him

passivelyaggresive · 10/06/2011 22:09

he does when i have shaved flamegirl!! feck off with the prepubescent comments Hmm its not about that, its about, errm, him not getting hair in his mouth! No amount of epilating is going to make me look prepubescent, thats for sure!

OP posts:
vigglewiggle · 10/06/2011 22:10

Well you asked the question - you get the opinions.

passivelyaggresive · 10/06/2011 22:12

but really, my question was more along the lines of, do you ever do something sexual that you are not that keen on, just because your partner likes it - as a favour, because actually, i dont see a problem with it. the pussy shaving is just my particular example. And yes, he does indulge me flamegirl, lots, seriously, he does loads for me, both sexually and otherwise - so me doing something for him, which is, quite frankly a bit of a faff, thats a good thing i think.

OP posts:
passivelyaggresive · 10/06/2011 22:14

i do indeed viggle, and you are welcome to them - just saying, feck off - in a jokey way, if i had been offended i would have used a U Wink

nightowlmostly · 10/06/2011 22:14

I also object to the notion I've read a lot on here, that shaving or waxing it all off somehow equates to looking like a little girl! I wax, my DH likes it and I feel it improves sensitivity during sex.

Insinuating that it makes my DH a pervert really pisses me off!

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/06/2011 22:16

Get waxed or get it done permanently to remove the faff-factor.

nightowlmostly · 10/06/2011 22:18

passivelyaggressive, maybe try waxing, it last ages and doesn't itch?

passivelyaggresive · 10/06/2011 22:19

what gets me nightowl is, these ladies who throw their hands up in horror at the thought of a shaved pussy is that htey probably have never seen the shaved pussy of a 40 year old woman, there is nothing prepubescent about it, i can promise you. And NO im not putting up a link to my personal pics Grin

you WAX??? are you MAD??? seriously doenst it kill? I have considered it, but well, its delicate on the undercarriage - i am not sure it woldnt do permanent damage, or at least make me not want to be touched there for quite some time and that would kind of defeat the object i daresay

OP posts:
RevoltingPeasant · 10/06/2011 22:21

Erm, there are plenty of shaved 40yo pussies about. (That makes me sound like some kind of twisted frequenter of animal shelters...) Gym changing rooms! They're everywhere.

Honestly, if it itches, doesn't it kind of put you off wanting someone to touch it?

PamBeesly · 10/06/2011 22:23

Hi OP would you consider a wax or hair removal cream? Easier than shaving...if it is just the act of shaving that you don't like then thats a good alternative, but if its having to get rid of your pubic hair entirely, solely for the pleasure of your DP then....don't do it if you don't want to.

Sidge · 10/06/2011 22:24

I see more bald fannies at work than those in their natural state these days.

Personally I would only take it all off if I was comfortable with it. I wouldn't put up with itching, folliculitis and faffing around removing it just to make it easier for my DH to go down on me.

vigglewiggle · 10/06/2011 22:24

Fair enough passive.
I admit to never having seen my 37 year old bald muff Grin.

passivelyaggresive · 10/06/2011 22:32

I have to say, i am starting to think i AM being UR, cos the fucker is snoring his head off on the sofa despite being given a flash of the goods Hmm

OP posts:
Valpollicella · 10/06/2011 22:35

As a compromise, get him to shave his balls as well.

Heck, make it a thing and shave them for him.

RevoltingPeasant · 10/06/2011 22:36

Then this is the time to shave HIS bits and see how he likes that itching!

Go on, get yer razor....

sunshineandbooks · 10/06/2011 22:36

Go for it - if he's prepared to remove the hair on his balls and crack as well.
