sound so over produced that they sound way more poppy than 'real' rock like black sabbath Grin

sort of girly rock

Corey is divine ! Not so keen on the long hair but love the video for "Thru Glass" His voice-swoon

cobweb1979 · 10/06/2011 21:27

My husband calls Green Day Punk-pop-pap. I have to say I agree with him.

I have no idea what 30 seconds to mars sound like. I'm not going to rush out and find out.

I love how music both unites and divides! An ex of mine used to go to sleep listening to Machine Head, they are therefore not my favourite band! I err on the cheesy side of metal. In the early days when my little one was very refluxy I once got him to stop crying by playing Monster Magnet very very loudly and singing along like a loon. I also like the Paradise Lost albums where they came over all Depeche Mode. So sue me. (I like Depeche Mode too).

BulletWithAName · 10/06/2011 21:28

YABU! are fucking amazing! Myles Kennedy has a fantastic voice! Going to see them in Nov can't wait!!!

Although a lot of them do sound like women now days...

And Peanut- fellow long haired man lover right here Grin

PersonalClown · 10/06/2011 21:29

And another long hair fan!

squeakytoy · 10/06/2011 21:34

When I was about 19, I was seeing a lad who was in a band and was the spit of Jon Bon Jovi..

Sadly he was about 3 inches shorter than me (and I am only 5ft 1).. and drove a clapped out Reliant Robin...

I had to move onto to someone who looked more like Nikki Sixx

DontCallMePeanut · 10/06/2011 21:34

PersonalClown Best response there is! My ex step son knew all the words to Duality at age 4. I was sooooo proud of him. Grin I even made him a slipknot tshirt (Primark tshirt with slipknot badges sewn on)

Ahh, StrawberryMewMew, unfortunately, I agree there. BUT apparently, they played a LOT from the Tell All Your Friends album at the Nottingham gig... So, fingers crossed...

We need a long haired lovers thread. Grin

DontCallMePeanut · 10/06/2011 21:35

Squeaky Nikki Sixx is A LOT hotter than Jon Bon Jovi...

bethelbeth · 10/06/2011 21:36

I think Corey looks like a builder. He has none of the swoon-worthiness of Trent Reznor.

And he is a bit ginger Wink

squeakytoy · 10/06/2011 21:38

Oh I know Peanut, and he still is.... just finished reading Heroin Diaries and his SixxAM album is superb.

DontCallMePeanut · 10/06/2011 21:45

Gingers are under-rated Wink

bethelbeth · 10/06/2011 21:48

I like my gingers to be Tim Minchin-esque. Corey's rusty looks ain't doing it for me!

SarahLundsredJumper · 10/06/2011 21:49

Leave Corey to me Wink

bethelbeth · 10/06/2011 21:52

Naae worries. Just keep your hands off my Keith!!

I have fond memories of taking my young sister to see MCR and being up the front for ETID, it was very clear that Mr Keith was wearing no undies. And beeejeezus.... Dude is in the Tommy Lee brigade. I think my eyes popped out of my head.

MollysChamber · 10/06/2011 22:02

30STM are not what I would consider a rock band.

Jaysus though Leto is pretty.

alittlebitcountry · 10/06/2011 22:26

Ladies after my own heart - but it seems only fair to warn you Dave is mine - Love, love, love the Foos (sigh Dave).
You can't go wrong if you turn up the volume and stick on Metallica, Disturbed, Hendrix, Led Zep, the D... The list goes on and on.
I resorted to singing Rolling Stones and Dylan to DD since I didn't know any lullabies or nursery rhymes at first.

MollysChamber · 10/06/2011 22:30

Don't get the Dave lust. Like him lots but, no, I'll not be fighting you for him. Supremely talented though.

bethelbeth · 11/06/2011 00:12

Did you watch that foos documentary thing on iplayer though... I don't really fancy working for Mr Grohl....

MollysChamber · 11/06/2011 00:15

I saw it on telly t'other week.

DH was surprised he wasn't really "the nicest man in rock" after all.

He's too damn successful to be nice all the time I think. A perfectionist. Which means not everyone will measure up. Huge respect for him though.

Shoesytwoesy · 11/06/2011 00:17

bloody hell personalclown, cheers now I will go to bed crying RIP Jimmy

Shoesytwoesy · 11/06/2011 00:19

corey taylor is briliant live by the way

mrswhiskerson · 11/06/2011 00:28

For me it has got be rammstein , red hot chili peppers , foo fighters mettallica and green day .

I used to be a fan of the fall out boys and blink 182 s but not so
much now I need something heavier ,when i listen to bands like that now they just seem a bit meh.

And I have a total weakness for rockers , Anthony kiesdis is my all
time fave and till lindemann drool .

Awomancalledhorse · 11/06/2011 00:48

Big Metallica, rammstein, machinehead etc fan over here.

But having been a teen through 'nu-metal' I am partial to a bit of Linkin Park/Papa Roach (their old stuff, not the shite heroin chic stuff they make now). used to love muse before they went all shit & popular.

Best gig is either Eagles of Death Metal or Black Stone Cherry.

StrawberryMewMew · 11/06/2011 08:31

Peanut Fingers crossed for you also!

My weakness is Fred Durst. Yummm. :o Wink

AmazingBouncingFerret · 11/06/2011 08:53

Would it be wrong to say I love it all?

Especially him

GingerWrath · 11/06/2011 10:22

Oh cool, I found where all the Rock Chicks are hanging out!

I started off with Poison, Cinderella, Faster Pussycat, Motley Crue, etc. I went to Monsters of Rock in '90 and '92.

Now I am into Metallica, Stone Sour, Slipknot and System of a Down.

I don't mind NuMetal too much, at least it is real music not manufactured pop/R&B.

Corey Taylor has the sexiest voice EVER!

Totally gutted that I am sat at home and not at the hallowed ground that is Donnington Park!
