Bloody people slaughtering the English language, I know the type, you say 'hun' repeatedly and I would put money on you lot not punctuating your fucking text messages nor do you use actual words.

I've never met anyone else who uses paragraphs in text messages. Once I used a semi-colon; no-one noticed, but I knew.

Of course text messages need punctuation. The shorter the message, the more crucial the punctuation.

I wouldn't even consider myself a pedant, although I did send an email recently, realised i'd spelt a word wrong so I edited the misspelt word and resent the email

I agree with you too Apocalypse but I dislike so many of the 'words' I see online that I just seethe silently[notice the sibilance there]-does the third 's' make it alliteration as well?
Actually I am a petty pedant about such things but do you know what I loathe even more?I loathe gratuitous obscenities and wrongly used apostrophes oh and coconut-I really hate coconut and cucumber and courgettes [uses device for effect].Guess who is marking exam papers :)
