I, along with most women I imagine are grateful that women fought to give us a vote.....

However I believe that things have gone to far..I hate women who moan and bitch about how they can't have everything!!!!!!!!

No your damn right you can not have everything ...if you go to work full time when your children are young, YOU WILL MISS OUT!!!!!

Why should women have it all???

I believe that most feminists think that they are more worthy of having everything then men and guess what you are wrong...men dont have it all...most men still work full time and still miss out on their children..

Men used to provide for their families...Men used to have a little pride...I don't think that that those women all those years ago wanted things to go this far...where some women see men as useless and think they can do everthing with out them..including having children...fair enough if you split up and you end up a single mum thats one thing but choosing to have a baby alone is just plain selfish....women should not be allowed to use a sperm doner if they are single..

So you feminists who think you are better then men and that you can have everything..YOU ARE WRONG...I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Women have every right, but face lots of discrimination, trying to enter traditionally male sectors.

And lawyers have wide salary bandings for each level of PQE, which differ between disciplines, some of which are more gender-sterotyped because...TA DA... they require long or unsocial hours that a lot of women can't do because the world is set up for them to be the Shock primary carer.

Did you read the link up there?

K999 · 05/06/2011 21:26

Lots of lawyers I know have set salaries.

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:26

MitchiestInge

Yes

Bar scale level 1 and 2
Bar scale level3 and over

of course that reflects your pay

AyeRobot · 05/06/2011 21:27

BM, of course they didn't. There's a lot of belief that they never had it and never will, though.

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:28

AyeRobot · 05/06/2011 21:31

Do you live in Sweden?

MitchiestInge · 05/06/2011 21:32

Haven't heard of bar scale levels but didn't go that route, is that during pupillages?

Tambern · 05/06/2011 21:35

Mitchiestinge Thank God for that, I really thought I'd stumbled into the Twilight Zone

TheFlyingOnion · 05/06/2011 21:36

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:40

Anyways im leaving this thread before i knock myself out :)
Very informative though ladies :)

MitchiestInge · 05/06/2011 21:41

Fucking hell, she qualified quickly - it was the BVC this time last year?

bemybebe · 05/06/2011 21:43

Annie "Men can't refuse to be an equal partner in caring for his children - refusing to take as many days off for sick children, working flexibly etc etc, and then complain when the courts see his wife, who has done all these things, as the better parent."

To re-write a little: Women can't refuse to be an equal partner in working full time earning money - refusing to take extra shifts or travelling for days at a time, working weekends etc etc, and then complain when the courts see their husbands, who have done all these things, walking away with much larger fortunes proportionate to their monetary contributions.

I think there is something wrong with both of this arguments - don't you?

Women and men should be allowed by feminists to go out to work as long as they find works best for their families, same for childcare. If a men or a women go out to work, it does not automatically mean they are a bad parent and suggesting it is frankly offensive.

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:45

nope she been qualified for 6 years now love
She started off in the office behind the desk :) she has done well for herself very proud

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:46

well said bemybebe totally agree :)

MitchiestInge · 05/06/2011 21:46

she was very clever to do the bptc five or six years before it was launched

bemybebe · 05/06/2011 21:48
Wink
AnnieLobeseder · 05/06/2011 21:49

bemybebe - I'm agree there is truth in that, apart from the notion that feminists have the power to allow or disallow anyone anything.

My example, I should have made clear, was from the viewpoint of two full-time working parents. I can see it doesn't work for other family set-ups.

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:51

lol MitchiestInge
Your thinking of family law i take it
They are many roles of lawyers lol she is in insurance i take it your trying to imply that im saying my sister is trained when she isnt lol thats very weird but im not going to justify myself to you i am very proud of my sister and thats that :)

LDNmummy · 05/06/2011 21:54

So its a highly offensive post, but actually, I just don't have the energy to do more than offer it a Biscuit and a snigger.

MitchiestInge · 05/06/2011 21:54

I'm thinking anyone who qualified six years ago did the bvc, since the course you mentioned didn't come into existence until last year. Or they did the lpc and went the training contract route. Or they spent hundreds of years going ILEX way but you specifically mentioned the bar.

MitchiestInge · 05/06/2011 21:56

They are many roles of lawyers lol

gosh really? Next you will be saying there are different sorts of doctors.

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:57

its not me lol its my sister what difference what course she did lol i was just saying how her wage was worked out okay :)

happy4eva · 05/06/2011 21:58

MitchiestInge
