So she comes round and does the sweep and then takes her gloves off and goes into the kitchen to, I assume, put them in the bin.

She said "oh I cant see your bin so I'll just leave them here..."

Here, as I discovered after she left, was the top shelf/basket of my dishwasher that i was halfway through loading when she arrived. No, I am not joking, yes, she really did leave gloves that had been inside my vagina IN my dishwasher.

AIBU to make a complaint about her through PALS? Especially as this comes on the back of several other issues including her not returning urgent calls, not turning up for appointments and getting my notes wrong.

I have a friend who is a local HV and she says that this particular MW is v unpopular amongst them too and they want someone to make a complaint as otherwise nothing will change.

I'm obviously too square for MN.

DancesWithSockPuppets · 02/08/2012 14:49

Yep, I saw a documentary (can't for the life of me remember what on) where the dishwasher was open and there was a row of vibrators on the top shelf.

Sorry for feeding the zombie btw. Just thought I should share that with you.

Your friend is being very unprofessional discussing her colleague with you.

As a qualified district nurse I find that the worst part of your post.

Good luck with the baby and concentrate on you.

thebody · 02/08/2012 14:55

Oh bollocks old thread.. Lol ..

MammaTJ · 02/08/2012 15:13

I use gloves for work. More cleaning bodily secretions than putting up fanjo. I always take of the glove from the hand that has done the work inside out. Then I put the other glove over it, again inside out. The chances of anything coming in to contact with your dishwasher are minimal. Complain about the other stuff by all means though!

VolAuVent · 02/08/2012 16:13

YANBU. Why didn't she just ask where the bin was? Strange.

DontEatTheVolesKids · 02/08/2012 16:24

Minging but hilarious.

lilachair · 02/08/2012 16:35

I still want to know where Bogeys bin is.

loopydoo · 02/08/2012 16:41

I think because it was your own vagina and your own dishwasher, then it's fine and actually more hygenic than her putting them in her bag to take away (unless bagged up as I would have thought they would have been).

Had she have done the sweep at the surgery/hospital and then left the gloves lying around, then that would have been different and worth mentioning.

Crinkle77 · 02/08/2012 16:45

The correct thing to do would be to ask where she should put them if she could not find a bin

zookeeper · 02/08/2012 16:47

Any reasonable complaint you might have would be completely undermined by your ridiculous reaction to the gloves imo

electricalbanana · 02/08/2012 17:14

i like to play "what did they put in search to find this thread"......

any answers?

MrsShortfuse · 02/08/2012 17:40

I still have a regular snigger about the Embarrassing Bodies episode about a woman was addicted to coffee enemas, and she put the nozzle in the dishwasher.

Anyway I think you are overreacting a bit. Presumably your DP has also been in there and so will your baby soon (vagina not dishwasher).

bogeyface · 02/08/2012 23:08

BRAAAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNNNS

:o

Well I still think it was disgusting, but I didnt complain. Baby is now 14 months and indeed a walker!

I linked to this thread in the labour thread on chat ("my waters have gone") as it was mentioned on there, so thats how it got found.

Yuck, nasty, and I would definitely complain. What a very odd thing to do.

anyadvice01 · 03/08/2012 15:47

I would complain, it was unprofessional and probably broke hygeine rules.

FeakAndWeeble · 03/08/2012 16:19

Zombie thread

FeakAndWeeble · 03/08/2012 16:20

Ah, I see I'm not the first to have noticed this.

ShatnersBassoon · 03/08/2012 16:24

She wasn't going to put them in her pocket until she found a bin now was she?

Thinking about it logically, it would be like freaking out about putting worn knickers in the laundry basket with other garments because they might contaminate everything with fanny slop. Your own vagina really isn't that unpleasant a place.
