Just being curious, really. We don't get too many (eg) xxFreddiesMummyxx's on here, which I have seen on other forums. And so far, not noticed any Lucy R(3104703) a la Netmums. So, would anyone like to share their name choosing stories?

Mines taken (rather unimaginatively) from a song title, Don't Call Me Peanut by Bayside.

MissPenteuth · 01/06/2011 17:29

I'm sure I explained mine on a similar thread not long ago Wink, but it is just a bad pun/wordplay that popped into my head a while ago. I was thinking at the time about the tattoos I have, and how some people seem to be shocked to find out I have them. They are a product of my Misspent Youth. Geddit? Grin

TheLadyEvenstar · 01/06/2011 17:40

My name was what a once very dear friend gave me before he got married and ditched me.
I miss the laughs we had Sad

hackingandhewing · 01/06/2011 18:05

Mine is from a Peter Cook/Dudley Moore sketch - my DH thinks they're the funnisest people ever to have walked the earth. He and my BIL are forever quoting them and they were in hysterics about this particular sketch one night while I was MNing.

worraliberty · 01/06/2011 18:14

Catherine Tate Show

I wish MN would let us put dots between our names to seperate them.

pigletmania · 01/06/2011 18:25

My love of things piglety of course Grin

mumwithdice · 01/06/2011 18:34

Simple. Am a geeky mum who plays Dungeons and Dragons and carries two d20s in her handbag.

I woke at 3am once and thought, oooo this should be my name on MN. No idea why or where it came from.

Needle · 01/06/2011 19:07

I was the resident seamstress for a theatre company, known to all and sundry as "the needle" when I got pregnant. It just stuck.

wheredidyoulastseeit · 01/06/2011 19:50

My name comes from the phrase I seem to utter the most. It is the answer to the constant questions of wheres my homework/shoes/briefcase/brain? The answer is where did you last see .

wheredidyoulastseeit · 01/06/2011 19:54

StewieGriffinsMom I love your analysis of family guy I had often wondered why somebody would want to be associated with Lois Griffin but i think I get where you are coming from.

Tortu · 01/06/2011 20:17

I'd like to be a tortoise, so my username is aspirational. All they do is eat, shag and potter round the garden when it's sunny. Plus they sleep through the boring days of winter.

Nice life, I reckon.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/06/2011 20:30

Draco Malfoy the amazing bouncing ferret from the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

kaid100 · 01/06/2011 20:34

The novels of Lisanne Norman.

CognitiveDissident · 01/06/2011 20:39

Mine is the name of a bar in William Gibson's "Bridge" Trilogy.

I also like that it's a play on the expression 'Cognitive Dissonance' ...but I'm not quite sure whether a cognitive dissident is opposed to thinking in a conventional way, or just plain opposed to thinking.

SuePurblybilt · 01/06/2011 20:47

I chose mine cos I am. Magnificently so. But lots of people don't geddit and think my name is Sue.Grin

I used to be named after a hen that I was cuddling on my lap when I registered but having 'chick' in the name made me feel a bit twee and girly so I changed.

AllGoneABitBobLazar · 01/06/2011 20:55

I've tried out a few names, not sure if this is a keeper yet... DH and I love rubbish TV and got really into a program called Rich Planet Starship on obscure cable channel Showcase2. It's about aliens and conspiracy theories. Bob Lazar is one of the show's weirdos experts.

crappymoodymoo · 01/06/2011 20:55

NorthernGobshite · 01/06/2011 20:55
