Just being curious, really. We don't get too many (eg) xxFreddiesMummyxx's on here, which I have seen on other forums. And so far, not noticed any Lucy R(3104703) a la Netmums. So, would anyone like to share their name choosing stories?

Mines taken (rather unimaginatively) from a song title, Don't Call Me Peanut by Bayside.

Sian Massey, 'running the line' for football. I love her.

spamm · 31/05/2011 17:45

Mine used to be my ds's nickname + mom, before I knew mom names were "not the done thing". Grin

And then we had a "Slim your name" thread on here one New Year and I liked my slimmer name, so stuck with it.

HorseWhisperer · 31/05/2011 17:48

I love horses. We have a few. Preferred them to humans when I was younger. I still talk to them.

follyfoot · 31/05/2011 17:51

Because I wanted to be

ThePathanKhansWoman · 31/05/2011 19:51

I love this thread, i often make up "life stories" for posters i see a lot.

For instance Alexpolismum was a hardbitten Scottish detective (murdersquad of course).

Expatinscotland looks like Cate Blanchett and lives in the wilds of Scotland on a small holding, every day is a battle, but every night she looks out to sea at a lighthouse.

Fabbychic is an ex model of Cuban heritage, she lives somewhere really 'cool in London' has a little Bistro that only the In crowd know about, knows loads of famous arty/muso types but is blaze about it all.

Nullisinverbena has a cottage with a massive garden full of sweetwilliams, stocks, sweetpeas, she does the gardening in ghost/chloe all saints clothes, she has red hair like a pre-raphalite.

K999 she works for Govt. MI5, can't say more except she trained at Rada.

Oh sweet Lord and theres loads more, i need to get out moreGrin

coulicalla · 31/05/2011 20:05

I am trying this one out for the very first time. It is the name of my imaginary friend.

ButWhyIsTheRumGone · 31/05/2011 20:25

Mine is because i am a little bit obsessessed with pirates of the carribean, and i am a bacardi girl so it is a bit of a running joke between my friend and i.

AprilRose · 31/05/2011 20:32

Really boring really... I didn't think I was going to stick around when I first joined, and didn't want to use any old net nns, so I combined my birth month and my favourite flower.

It sounds like a slightly pretentious offering for a baby girl's name, but I'm used to it already.

scottishmummy · 31/05/2011 20:44

self explanatory,im a scottish mummy
not a clever or funny but i couldnt be faffed trying to be witty or unique

WillyBumBalls · 31/05/2011 20:57

I've had 4 names over the years... screw it am going to completely out myself :o

Name 1 - Funmum21 - Unimaginative cutesy name and my age. Had for about 5 minutes.
Name 2 - Youngbutnotdumb - One of the first threads I read was someone saying young parents are stupid.
Name 3 - Mamadiva - I have been known to suffer rediculous moodswings and throw the mother of all diva strops!
Name 4 - My current name... fancied a change and DS announced a few weeks ago that he was going in a bath to wash his willybumballs because they were sandy Blush:o

StealthPolarBear · 31/05/2011 21:05

I like to dress as a polar bear, hide round corners and startle passing shoppers

AllAboutEvie · 31/05/2011 21:08

Evie is my DD, and All About Eve is my favourite film. All hail Bette Davis!

HavePatience · 31/05/2011 21:14

Grin SPB. I've seen your story of your name before. Very funny!

I changed my name to this from something rather boring before. I chose this name because I say it (and sing a little song with the same title) about 3,000 times per day to my students and my DS.... and DH.

Dessie12 · 31/05/2011 21:23

Mine is a nickname of my surname and a number that I could remember when signing in (very boring). :o

Spagbolagain · 31/05/2011 21:25

Because I am being a bit unimaginative in the cooking stakes at the moment.
Not my usual name, am feeling a bit weird as am early PG.
Once we get past 12weeks I'll probably change back, with apologies to all the nice ladies I have got to know on the antenatal club thread

basingstoke · 31/05/2011 21:29

Ruddigore (Gilbert and Sullivan)

SilentSinger · 31/05/2011 21:32

A character in Psychoville that I love.

bupcakesandcunting · 31/05/2011 21:34

Mine was originally Very Boring. I then changed it to cupcakesandbunting after another MNer suggestied that I couldn't get chavs dickheads banned from the park because they weren't cupcakes and bunting enough for me...

THEN SpringHeeledJack said that considering what an arsehole ascerbic poster I was, cupcakesandbunting was too twee for me and should be called bupcakesandcunting. And here I am!

scottishmummy · 31/05/2011 21:38

eurycantha · 31/05/2011 21:39

TribbleWithoutACause · 31/05/2011 21:48

The good people on Mumsnet gave it to me.

Rapaccioli · 31/05/2011 21:49

Mine is pilfered from the surname of a young man I worked with many years ago. It suggests all the things I'm not and he was - sexy, dark-eyed, dark-haired and Mediterranean. :)
