Just being curious, really. We don't get too many (eg) xxFreddiesMummyxx's on here, which I have seen on other forums. And so far, not noticed any Lucy R(3104703) a la Netmums. So, would anyone like to share their name choosing stories?

Mines taken (rather unimaginatively) from a song title, Don't Call Me Peanut by Bayside.

I mostly post on the C25K thread, and this was a namechange when I came back from a particularly hot and humid run.

MindyMacready · 04/06/2011 02:39

This namechange is from the film Kick Ass which I watched with DD1!

The oil is running out, most of the world's economy is in tatters and as far as I can tell the major governments are ignoring it.

My OFR is packed.

Also it's one of my favourite REM songs and I live in the back of beyond :)

I looked around for inspiration and saw a board game on the shelf in front of me called Shakin' Scarecrow.

Mine is from friends where rachel buys that weird cat with no fur (cant remeber the proper name for them) she called its mrs whiskerson , which I always found hilarious and every time I laugh at it my dh shakes his head and says I am really sad.
Also i watched a lot of friends repeats when ds was born and I was up til five in the morning with him. Thats also when I discovered mumsnet.

TheFarSide · 07/06/2011 01:05

"The Far Side is a popular single-panel comic created by Gary Larson. Its surrealistic humor is often based on uncomfortable social situations, improbable events, an anthropomorphic view of the world, logical fallacies, impending bizarre disasters, or the search for meaning in life. Larson's frequent use of animals and nature in the comic is popularly attributed to his background in biology. Some of Larson's comic books include letters from angry readers alongside the comics. The letters were written to newspaper publishers and often demanded the removal of The Far Side. Despite these protests, The Far Side remained popular and continued to run in many newspapers. Larson himself often laughs at the controversies as evidenced in one of his books in which he writes that the people complaining have usually misunderstood the cartoon."

I absolutely love the farside books and I have read them all they are gauranteed to have me in hysterics, my dh does not really find the humour that funny and but thinks it is hilarious when I am rolling around laughing.

midlandsmumof4 · 07/06/2011 01:17

because I am-wish I could be a bit more original. In fact I MAY name change. Grin.

TheFarSide · 07/06/2011 01:17

Well, cheers, MrsW - they are definitely a particular kind of humour that not everybody gets.
