DontCallMePeanut · 31/05/2011 06:00

Just being curious, really. We don't get too many (eg) xxFreddiesMummyxx's on here, which I have seen on other forums. And so far, not noticed any Lucy R(3104703) a la Netmums. So, would anyone like to share their name choosing stories?

Mines taken (rather unimaginatively) from a song title, Don't Call Me Peanut by Bayside.

The bestest, bestest book ever. Was made to read it at school for English and really struggled but got an A band 1 (preen).
Now love the book, brilliant and tragic.

5DollarShake · 31/05/2011 10:47

Mrs Mia Wallace has a $5 shake in Jack Rabbit Slims - Vincent Vega can't believe it costs that much and doesn't have any alcohol in it. Pulp Fiction.

christinecagney · 31/05/2011 10:49

Showing my age but loved Cagney and Lacey as a child - is there anyone cooler, more fashionable, decisive, confident and wonderful than Christine Cagney??? Someone to aspire to.....

hugeleyoutnumbered · 31/05/2011 10:52

I am hugely out numbered even the goldfish is called mr fish Grin

ipswichwitch · 31/05/2011 11:37

it's where i'm from, and i am a witch (according to my DB)

microserf · 31/05/2011 11:47

my favourite book by douglas copeland

i always cry at the end. you think it's a book about silicon valley as you read it, but at the end, you realise it is, and has always been, about family.

whathellcall · 31/05/2011 12:31

Mines from my mother who I lost in '09 Sad. Alot of her sentences started with what hell call, as in what hell call have you to be going out/drinking/ etc, things that she would have thought were daft. Now that i'm a mum, starting to realise that the old adage about turning into your mother might be true, am way too sensible these days for my own liking Grin.

Catmilk · 31/05/2011 12:38

Supermarket product that partner & I initially thought was milk FROM cats.

Takeresponsibility · 31/05/2011 12:46

Number one gripe - people who won't take responsibility for their actions, probably the thing I say most at work, closely followed by JFDI (meaning would you mind getting on with that task)

crystalglasses · 31/05/2011 12:50

I was drinking wine out of a very nice glass at the time.

stubbornstains · 31/05/2011 12:50

This was my user name on an alt. photography forum initially. I used to (and WILL do again!) make photographs the Victorian way, mixing up my own chemicals. Silver nitrate will not come off. Ever.

stubbornstains · 31/05/2011 12:51

...and of course, it's a play on old washing powder ads too...

grovel · 31/05/2011 12:54

I'm not worthy of this thread.

SecondMrsDeWinter · 31/05/2011 13:00

From the Daphne Dumaurier book Rebecca (my favourite), I like the fact that she's nameless so decided to make that my name.

kenobi · 31/05/2011 13:08

Very satisfying to discover that so many of the names I noticed and appreciated - MrsDeWinter, DanverClone, Tatty Devine etc are from where I thought they were. Though Tatty, I did wonder if you were the shop owner!

Mine's not from Star Wars, I'm not even that big a fan. It's part of an endless mispronounciation of my first name which used to drive me MAD. But I'm very fond of it now and use it everywhere. Its also sex-neutral which is of no matter on this board but useful on others.

confuseddotcodotuk · 31/05/2011 13:08

I needed a namechange to discuss having sex with my best friend turned boyfriend on here and how it felt a bit weird as few weeks back. Forgot to namechange back and it's stuck now Grin

I was porphyrophillicpixi before this, porphyrophillic meaning 'purple loving' and pixi because I was nn'd Nixi the Pixi as a preteen, and later on a friend who happened to be an awesome artist used to doodle her friends as characters, mine, naturally, was a Pixie :) It has just stuck over the years Grin

twirlymum · 31/05/2011 13:18

My name is what DS shouts out most mornings, usually at 6am. My reply is 'yes, go back to sleep'

I also teach baton twirling Grin

helenthemadex · 31/05/2011 13:22

I used to be helenthemadwife I was a midwife and my daughter told everyone her mum was a madwife so it stuck, then changed it to helenhismadwife, and now im seperated helenthemadex seems appropriate

CadleCrap · 31/05/2011 13:23

StrawberryMewMew · 31/05/2011 13:33

Mines is the name of a japanese kids cartoon about a Neko Mesume (cat girl). Well the actual name is "Ichigo Mew Mew" but it's Strawberry in English. :o

MmeLindor. · 31/05/2011 13:35

I live in Switzerland, home of chocolate, in the French speaking part.

Toblerone was taken or I would have used that, but am actually glad now cause I like MmeLindor better.

StrawberryMewMew · 31/05/2011 13:36

Lindor Ahhh, makes sense now why your usernames are so chocolatey! :o

mumnotmachine · 31/05/2011 13:39

Because I'm a mum and not a machine which everyone seems to think I am...
