Just being curious, really. We don't get too many (eg) xxFreddiesMummyxx's on here, which I have seen on other forums. And so far, not noticed any Lucy R(3104703) a la Netmums. So, would anyone like to share their name choosing stories?

Mines taken (rather unimaginatively) from a song title, Don't Call Me Peanut by Bayside.

This one is because of the bees I keep. But there are more names I change into dependent on my mood, but then that would be telling, wouldn't it? Wink

Cursingtheboobytum · 31/05/2011 09:07

A play on Crossing the Rubicon. re Caesar crossing the point of no return to take power. I crossed a point of no return when I became pregnant.

Happyhippychick · 31/05/2011 09:17

I used to post on another forum (pre-kids) as HippyChick, because I am a bit of an old hippy at heart and I have a giant arse am a bit curvy. That was taken here so I added the Happy cos I am!

MummyDoIt · 31/05/2011 09:22

My DSs were toddlers when I signed up to MN and all I seemed to hear, all day long, was 'Mummy do it'. I thought it might as well be my name! I do occasionally switch to InterruptingCow which is the punchline of my favourite Knock Knock joke.

TheHumanCatapult · 31/05/2011 09:24

mine is becuase I have a bad habit of not seeing doorlip/stone etc and end up parting company with my wheelchair and not in a ladylike fasion often yelling oh feckkkkk

Lorelai · 31/05/2011 09:28

Mine is after my all-time favourite TV mother, who I aspire to be just like (and usually fail :()

ScarletOHaHa · 31/05/2011 09:30

Nail varnish and Rouge Noir was already taken

Norfolkbumpkin · 31/05/2011 09:32

Mine is based on where I live and what I am (according to people not from 'round these parts)

MrsDistinctlyMintyMonetarism · 31/05/2011 09:37

That bit in Blackadder the Third, the Dr Johnson episode.

Blackadder says to the Prince Regent "I'll be back before you can say the word antidisestablishmentarianism."

Prince Regent tries (and fails) and comes up with "MrDistinctlyMintyMonetarism".

The letter K is significant to me. I remembered kicking king from Letterland!

I've had a few names though and I just make them up, like I'll copy a phrase from the back of a cereal packet or something.

ShitBallsNassholes · 31/05/2011 09:43

From my mum, this is what she say's especially if she hurts herself!! Grin

EauRouge · 31/05/2011 09:49

Mine is a corner at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

AuntieMonica · 31/05/2011 09:51

my current 'name' is nothing to do with 'Friends', sorry to disappoint the MNer who liked because it reminded her of a character from it Blush

it's a very childish memory, that still makes me giggle like a 6yr old...

Mum was a Brown Owl - and we thought it was fabulous that you could sing

'oh I have an Auntie,
an Auntie Monica,
and when she goes out shopping, they all say 'ooh la-la'

because her muff is swaying, her muff is swaying so..........'

i'm almost 44 now - and will never grow up Grin

dreamofwhitehorses · 31/05/2011 09:52

Mine's the name of a seacliff climb on Anglesey, a UK classic on my wishlist.

COCKadoodledooo · 31/05/2011 10:02

It's a homage to my favourite man.

COCKadoodledooo · 31/05/2011 10:03

IgnoringTheChildren · 31/05/2011 10:13

Obviously what I'm doing when I'm on MN!

I really hate coming up with usernames for things. I probably agonised for ages before coming up with this one and it's not like it even matters... I do get a bit Envy when I see a really good username though. Grin

otchayaniye · 31/05/2011 10:28

Mine is the Russian word for 'despair', which is also the title of a novel by my favourite writer, Nabokov.

SuchProspects · 31/05/2011 10:29

It's a line from a Quentin Blake book I had just finished reading (for the 9000th time) a couple of minutes before I signed up in a desperate attempt to regain some sanity.

JessicaDrew · 31/05/2011 10:33
