or is it just me?

For what it's worth, this is the property we have our eye on. It's all we can afford and at this price it's a push anyway.

I'd kill for proper wooden floors like that has!

bibbitybobbityhat · 30/05/2011 13:19

Gorgeous wooden floor in the front room!

Its amazing how few photos some agents can get away with putting up, isn't it?

The three bedrooms are all good sizes for a Victorian terrace.

It looks great on paper.

Does it have a garden?

bubblecoral · 30/05/2011 13:20

YABU.

I haven't seen any property bragging anyway, but anyone should be able to talk about what they want on here, be it a 100 grand property or a 600 grand property. This site is not dedicated to poor people.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 30/05/2011 13:20

See £285,000 would be way outside my budget so I could accuse you of the same. But we all have a budget and what seems outrageous to 1 person would be scrimping to someone else. Live and let live eh

BulletWithAName · 30/05/2011 13:20

What's wrong with that house? I'd kill to have a house like that, it's lovely! And very, very near where I grew up

beatofthedrum · 30/05/2011 13:21

It's hardly cheap though is it! I'd be overjoyed to be looking in that price bracket!

ManicAnnie · 30/05/2011 13:21

I think it's easy to view 'People from London Talking About Property' as property braggers. £285k wouldn't buy you more than a tiny one bed flat where I am. That isn't bragging. It's bloody depressing!

Piggyleroux · 30/05/2011 13:22

Yes, but my point is you don't see people asking for advice on properties like the one I've just shown you. They're all big detached houses which the majority of people can only dream about living in.

OP posts:
psiloveyou · 30/05/2011 13:22

But you are bragging.
Lots of people on here who are trying to raise several dc in a pokey 2 bedroom flat would kill for that property.

YABU

worraliberty · 30/05/2011 13:23

OMG do you know how ironic this thread is OP?

You're accusing people of property bragging and then you show everyone the house you're buying? Grin

Even if that house was a slum, I'm sure there would be plenty of posters who would give their right arm to be able to get on the property ladder.

Ruprekt · 30/05/2011 13:24

We could not afford that.

We have no deposit so YABVVVU at bragging at your house.

IgnoringTheChildren · 30/05/2011 13:26

Why is there no floor plan? I hate it when there's no floor plan! Angry

Have you actually viewed it? Just wondering if there are so few pics because the rest of the rooms are hideous or because it's new to the market and only just been put up on rightmove...

The wooden floor does look fantastic. Grin

I'm being ironic Smile

OP posts:
worraliberty · 30/05/2011 13:27

And FWIW, most of the 'big detached houses' seen on here are out in the sticks/countryside and therefore not somewhere everyone would want to live.

Selks · 30/05/2011 13:27

Nice house, but so expensive! But I guess that's what you have to pay in the south. Up here (Yorkshire) a house that size would be half that amount, or less, depending on the area.

Ruprekt · 30/05/2011 13:27

Hmm not sure you were.

Do not get the irony AT ALL!!!!!!!!!

Pagwatch · 30/05/2011 13:28

You are being pretty hypocritical.

The house you are looking at is better than anything I live in for most of my married life.

There are people on here who would be very envious and yet you seem to be trying to sound hard done by.

Pagwatch · 30/05/2011 13:29
Confused

Not getting irony.

Psammead · 30/05/2011 13:31

It looks nice and cosy. Quite a typical British town house, I'd say.

fifi25 · 30/05/2011 13:33

In Newcastle you could probably get a similar house for 100k. I feel sorry for Southerners Smile.

YABU - you are doing what you think is unreasonable

AmazingBouncingFerret · 30/05/2011 13:33

Your OP is about as ironic as Alanis Morrisettes ten thousand spoons.

I would of loved to have been able to afford that price for a house and i'm by no means poor.
