I think the visceral reaction on the thread was inversely proportional to the need for the thread in the first place.

The qualitative and quantitative detail about somebody's sex life is just unseeming. The 'good hard shag' details are not something many of us are interested in hearing about. Particularly when the op has with brevity set up a dichotomy in her op between the boring and the exciting. The boring of course cherish shade and sense, the exciting amongst us are having good hard shags that last 2 minutes and start with exciting foreplay in a layby, naked sleeping child be damned.
