That should be no,rather than not a neat freak.

fulltimeworkingmum · 25/02/2011 18:35

Do you know how much skin a person sheds every 24 hrs? What do you think dust is? When it's not settling on your furntiure, mantelpiece, TV etc it's being shed in your bed. Bed bugs love skin. Please change your bed once a week.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 18:37

I only go into my room to get clothes out of the drawers and clean bedding for the DS's - how much skin am I going to shed in there??? (obviously not a lot as when I run the hoover round up there about once a fortnight there's hardly any dust Grin)

duchesse · 25/02/2011 18:38

Same here Fellatio. Red Devon mud gets on everything. At least this way I know there'll be something other than trouser legs for the guests to wipe their hands on...

LetThereBeRock · 25/02/2011 18:39

Don't you sleep in your room,Baroque? You constantly shed skin cells.
Still,I'm sure the dust mites are grateful for the buffet.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 18:41

no I don't - maybe 20 times a a year if that. Have slept up there 3 times this year so far - that's quite good going for me Grin

My bedroom is the only practically dust free zone in my room - I have a bookcase in there which used to gather dust ALL the time when it was downstairs (it's "sister" bookcase is still downstairs and always dusty) - there's rarely any dust on it Grin

LetThereBeRock · 25/02/2011 18:42

That's because you have so many dust mites that leftovers aren't an issue.

Stangirl · 25/02/2011 18:45

I just can't bring myself to worry about dust. Before I had a cleaner I had never dusted my previous flat - in 5 years. I've also never hoovered in my life and don't iron anything. I do shower every day though - sometimes twice.

Mists · 25/02/2011 18:45

I didn't change bedding as often when I was single though. Lets face it, men and children are generally more manky Grin

Not to say that DH is but the sheets do get a bit more wear and tear in the mucky stakes if we're lucky now.

AintMissBeehiving · 25/02/2011 18:46

Beds get changed every week as a minimum. If it's hot then more often.

It must smell a bit after 3 months surely?

AintMissBeehiving · 25/02/2011 18:47

Never dusted in 5 years! Shock

Ideally once a fortnight, but occasionally goes to 2.5-3 weeks!! Couldn't do a month though, it would take me back to student days!! Grin

MsInterpret · 25/02/2011 18:51

or maybe it's because I clean in there more often than I sleep in there - it's really rather lovely in my room - I look at it rather lovingly as I whip the hoover and mop round, wipe the windows down (they need doing rather more often than I'd like - horrible old single glazed sash windows, and polish the wood - I keep wishfully thinking that one day I may actually manage to sleep in there too Hmm - but it never seems to happen.

Like I said - if I slept in there regularly I'd aim for once a fortnight.

EEK. Thanks Rizzo.

candleshoe · 25/02/2011 19:14

MsInterpret - most interesting post on here so I shouldn't worry Smile

Gleekfreak · 25/02/2011 21:19

Baroque-where do you sleep? Or do you not? :o

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 21:21

well - sleep is rather rare (for me) in this house - but when I do manage to track it down I find it more comfortable/easier on the sofa. The blanket that I use down here is regularly dragged across the floor by the DS's to make tents and god know what else so that does get washed VERY regularly lol.

noddyholder · 25/02/2011 21:22

Every sunday.

RedCloud · 25/02/2011 21:35

Only after a steamy session! OK TBH that currently only happens a couple of times a month - suits me.... saves on washing anyway Wink

sillymummy72 · 25/02/2011 21:36

Every Wednesday and Saturday - I would do it every day if DH didn't think it was weird.

Oh and I'm a lazy housekeeper - I get all my bedding laundered and ironed by the local dry cleaners (Drop it all off an a Saturday and pick up the following week -loads of sets so easy to do). I got fed up standing ironing duvet covers for hours on end...

noddyholder · 25/02/2011 21:40

People who keep them on a month or worse YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stangirl · 26/02/2011 02:34

Ironing duvet covers! You are all crazy - and have an astonishing amount of spare time.
