mumcha · 25/02/2011 09:27

every sunday and towels are only used once then washed

candleshoe · 25/02/2011 09:28

I intend to do them once a week but really we do them once a fortnight - sometimes goes to 2.5 weeks if we are busy! Yuk!

Where the hell is my personal maid that's what I want to know? I should sleep on fresh Egyptian cotton every night!

... all this household drudgery is so not me Daaarling!

HellonHeels · 25/02/2011 09:46

Weekly. I love crispy fresh bedding! Am convinced I sleep better in fresh sheets.

have read that the royals have sheets turned after first day's use, then fresh ones the next day...republican gossip, surely?

PrincessScrumpy · 25/02/2011 10:02

Every 2 weeks - more regularly if we are ill.

Towels - I probably use the same towel twice before washing (bath towel). Hand towels - once a week.

OneFishTwoFish · 25/02/2011 10:07

It is GetOrfMoiLand who changes her sheets daily. I wish I had that dedication. Once a week here.

FellatioNelson · 25/02/2011 10:08

Not as often as I like to think I do. Grin

extremepie · 25/02/2011 11:56

Changing sheets?

Do people actually do that?

Confused
QuinionsRainbow · 25/02/2011 12:18

Every week, generally on Fridays, so thanks for reiminding me again! Showers before bedtime all round too.

lurkerspeaks · 25/02/2011 13:28

EVery fortnight. I don't however sleep here every night Blush

2cats2many · 25/02/2011 13:31

Once a fortnight, unless they need it more frequently. I can't face the extra washing any more often than that...

kangers · 25/02/2011 13:50

Sheets once a month or 6 weeks. When I was a student I did not wash duvet cover for whole academic year, and really, it did not get any dirtier- started to self clean after a bit.
Fresh mint and others will be shocked at towel changing habits- I leave them on landing rail/balustrade to air after use, then fold and REPLACE in bathroom. I wash towels based on smell only- not dampness.
I have teenagers who will use 5 towels in one shower dry session- one for floor, one for hair, one for lower hafl, one for uppe half, another to sit on on the bed, another for the hair when its drier...
Yes I have told them but it makes no difference- hence the rail-drying routine.
A bit of dust and dirt never hurt anyone- plus they are being used to dry CLEAN bodies aren't they.
PS we aren't ill very much and I apply much more egular washin to my kitchen hand and tea towels, and dishcloths.
Cannot believe I have written so much........

allbie · 25/02/2011 15:26

All that washing n drying is very eco-unfriendly! Once a month is more than adequate.

HenriettaFarthingay · 25/02/2011 15:34

Try to do it every week but don't always manage it. Once a fortnight if pushed. Usually on Sunday. Mind you, my husband works away quite a bit so I just swap sides of the bed after a few days.

As for towels - I hate wet towels, straight in the machine every morning!

i agree albbie, and I can't believe people use towels only once. its so wasteful!! No wonder we have water shortages every summer, it's all you lot washing your wet towels! Wink

Guess I am lucky LeQueen. Mr Leaf smells lovely, plus he insists on sleeping with the window open except in deepest darkest winter so our bedroom always smells pretty fresh.

Musty bed smell is not good for sure!

d0gFace · 25/02/2011 15:45

I like it musty!

shewasashowgirl · 25/02/2011 15:58

We have ALL single duvets in this house even in king size bed (which has 2 singles)it makes life so much easier. I have been known NOT to take the covers off and bung the whole duvet with it's cover on into the washing machine. Then it's easy, you just hang out and put back on bed. I know, I know, it's height of laziness but at least the duvets are also clean in this house Blush

MavisEnderby · 25/02/2011 16:02

weekly.

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/02/2011 16:08

Every day in summer, every other day in winter.
