She's very very sweaty. Like a big hairy trucker in a sauna. It's the only explanation.

MrsFlittersnoop · 25/02/2011 16:27

Nonsense. GOML is just a DAINTY GURLY! Grin

LetThereBeRock · 25/02/2011 16:31

Twice a week.

FellatioNelson · 25/02/2011 16:31

Dainty? She's about 7 foot 9. Still. I'm about 4 foot 3, so everyone's a giant to me.

once a week for us
twice a week children

Rannaldini · 25/02/2011 16:52

I would do it more often but can't face ironing the sheets more often

LetThereBeRock · 25/02/2011 16:53

You're supposed to iron the sheets?Shock

annunciata · 25/02/2011 16:53

Once a week. But have two sets so do a big wash every two weeks.

Honeybee79 · 25/02/2011 16:53

Fuck me, I feel totally ashamed.

I change DS's (he's 4 months) once a week or more often if he's been a bit sick on it. I change my own about once a month - yes, I am a lazy lazy bugger when it comes to my bedding. But my bed sees sod all action at the moment and I do shower twice a day.

FellatioNelson · 25/02/2011 16:56

No LeQueen, I'm actually standing on a box. But still 4 foot 3.

Changing the subject a bit, I really want everyone one to sing and get drunk and be silly, and love one another lots tonight. It's bloody depressing round here this week, like one big black cloud of PMT. And as you are my only source of social life I can't even go out to get away from you all.

parakeet · 25/02/2011 17:00

I change my bedding once a MONTH and I'm not ashamed of it.

You lot should get a job or sommat' :)

notpythagoras · 25/02/2011 17:02

I asked my 16yo DD to pick one household task she would take on as her contribution to the housework. She chose washing her own sheets. That was in October. She hasn't washed them yet. I am not sure when I will crack.......oddly, they don't smell particularly (she doesn't either) but they look very grey to me as the (shabby) cat sleeps on her bed every night.

thunderbird69 · 25/02/2011 17:02

I don't have a set time that I do mine, it's more to do with when I have the space for them to dry - which isn't often. clothes take priority.

Honeybee79 · 25/02/2011 17:03

I feel better now, thanks parakeet.

perfumedlife · 25/02/2011 17:05

Twice a week, more frequent if I can be arsed. Love clean bed, it's a really affordable luxury, and to hell with the enviroment.

Someone at the start of the thread mentioned changing towels twice a week. I can't understand this. Do they mean they use the same towel that others have used? Leave it in a communal place? I use a towel, put it in the laundry basket, same for dh and ds. Why would people share a towel?

7 foot 9 Grin

No, not sweaty, but me and DP toss and turn all nighjt long, and the bed is a shambles in the morning, it is just as easy to change the bedding as it is to make the bed.

Plus I like the feel of clean sheets, and it only takes 10 mins a day.

perfumedlife · 25/02/2011 17:15

Shock Just seen someone changes the handtowel once a week Hand towels are full of germs. That's my worst nightmare, nice clean hands and drying them on someone else's germs. Surely they are small enough to chuck in the machine daily?

I'm overthinking this, need Wine

DanJARMouse · 25/02/2011 17:15

Being totally honest, our sheets every 3-4 weeks, kids every 2 weeks.

Towels get done once a week.

We dont iron sheets - life is too short.

To the poster who only showers/bathes once a week - you are brave!

I will admit I shower or bathe 2/3 times a week with strip washes in between. Kids are bathed twice a week and a shower after swimming on a monday. Washes in between.

We also share bath water! All 3 kids bathe in the same water, and DH and I share our bath water (I always go first though!)

LoopyLiz88 · 25/02/2011 17:16

I do ours about once a week but if I'm busy and they dont smell I wait a few more days. We all have baths at night so it isn't like we're dirty getting in bed.

jenandberry · 25/02/2011 17:24

Once a week during term time more often during the holidays because there will be less marking in bed and more bodily fluids flying around.

FellatioNelson · 25/02/2011 17:24

'Me and DP toss and turn all night..' So that's what they call it Gloucestershire. Hmm

BulletWithAName · 25/02/2011 17:25

Ours every week and the DC's every two weeks, but as they get older (and smellier Grin. it'll be every week too. And I iron them. Can't stand creased duvet covers!
