As I spent most of my time here..I thought I'd use it to say goodbye

As starkly reminded by recent threads, MN is not the sort of place that I feel very safe, with or without anonymity. I don't expect to be missed, I have often been quite and outspoken bitch on here and haven't exactly made a lot of friends. I am delighted to have met some of the feminists, and will hopefully see them again. But twice in two weeks I've had PMs reminding me of things I've posted about my husband and I'm really upset about it. For me MN has been a quick knee jerk experience, one that captures my mood at any moment. So toodle pip.....about time I did more with the dcs anyway.

I am really aware that this is an attention seeking thread, but I just wanted MN to know that I won't be the only one leaving when apparent heartbreak (not mine) is fodder for someone's 'shit stirring Sunday'.....

Laugh at StewieGMom, ' I am canadina' - do you remember the thread where some numpty came on and said I hate mum and baby group. why have a baby if you're going to work. And then later argued with someone about a canadian visa, telling her she didn't know anyhting about it. And poster replied, I am canadian.

was well funny.

Obs slips off, back into own world. sorry.

Maryz... Really? Grin

I definitely don't... I'm Excel illiterate... (crying emoticon)

There are some posters that I'm less comfortable with certainly, but I won't dismiss them just because they post something I don't like or don't agree with. I might be nodding my head vigorously at the next post. I'm not interested in alliances either as before you know it, your buddy is in a row with someone and if your own objectivity can be held up to scrutiny. Being your own person is the only way to be really.

Oblomov... that sounds a bit like the old joke about the US Naval Destroyer chucking it's weight about saying "get out of the way, we're the US Navy" and many orders later the lighthouse politiely makes the suggestion that the ship moves out of the way... makes me laugh everytime. Grin

Oblomov · 23/02/2011 19:49

what was the "comment abhorrent" please. I missed that bit of the thread and can not find it in-amongst the other 650.

Oblomov · 23/02/2011 19:51

Lying, true. The thread would have been a classic, if it hadn't been deleted. Wonder who the canadian was, if it wasn't stewie ?

Oh no I'm on a list! I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing as I'm that much of a newbie.... However please don't argue. I don't mind being on a list :)

Oblomov · 23/02/2011 20:52

Stewie, IT was YOU. How funny.

No , twas another thread I was getting it mixed up with. The one where the woman came on and so so incredibly obnoxious. I went to a NCT class and one mum made a comment to OP. And then OP went onto say, on the thread, if you're going to work why have babies.

Oh that was a classic. deleted. I am sure it turned out her husband was a diabetic and refused to go on a pump. which is where i came in, for another load of posting.

Oh, I loved that thread, SGM. Off to read it again.

She was VERY resistant to advice, wasn't she.

GotArt · 23/02/2011 21:29

Oblomov SGM It wasn't me! I do often tout being Canadian though as it was tiring to be constantly commented on being American while I lived in England. Then when I said I wasn't they always went with South African or Irish... Hmm

SGM That thread was weird... goes from H not watching child to emigrating to Canada! Hmm

I'm in for 10 quid for a spreadsheet... I really have no problem paying for things I can't be arsed do myself. Grin

TandB · 23/02/2011 22:08

[slaps SGM, MaryZ, Mme Lindt and Oblomov around the backs of the heads for making me waste about half an hour reading the I AM CANADIAN thread]

That might just be the funniest thread I have ever read. I didn't mean to read it all but I coiuldn't possibly imagine how it got from the OP to the argument about Canadian visas. I am still unsure!

I think the best bit of the entire thread was when the OP gave a little glossary of textspeak terms and announced that everyone else on the thread was too stupid to understand it.

MmeLindt · 23/02/2011 22:22

at Laxi-Daisy. Would be a good name for a girl.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 23/02/2011 22:52

I've just read the 'I am Canadian' thread as well... too funny! Grin

I'm nearly at the end of the four-year application process and waiting to get called in for medicals. Nail-biting stuff... I'll be gutted if we don't get in... Confused

LadyBiscuit · 23/02/2011 23:00
