If you were formula fed, you are probably, thick, fat and/or dead/on your last legs by now.

If you were breastfed, you are probably highly intelligent, with supermodel looks and are 125/going to reach 125 (but only if you were EBF until you were 16).

AIBU?

Yes, I know a thread about a thread but I could not resist.

BF until about 4 months then onto formula I think. Never really had the conversation with my mother to be honest.

Am BF-ing 6 month old.

There have been A LOT of breastfeeding threads recently.

chandellina · 15/02/2011 20:27

I was BF, my (older) brother was FF. somehow he ended up with the better looks, brains and extreme success though. :(

WorzselMummage · 15/02/2011 20:28

We were all breastfed until around 10 months I think.

schmee · 15/02/2011 20:28

Same as chandellina! Apart from the better looks though.. We're both pretty chubby.

AnathemaDevice · 15/02/2011 20:29

Breastfed until 6 months, then weaned onto tea.
I am distinctly average in both looks and brains.

FlamingoBingo · 15/02/2011 20:30

Feeling defensive, FFFS?

Hmm
magicmummy1 · 15/02/2011 20:30

I was FF as were my siblings, my DM thinks BF is "disgusting and unnatural", she used to walk away and pretend she didn't know me if I BF in public Sad

She is however a great granny just has this very odd entrenched idea...

manicbmc · 15/02/2011 20:30

Completely ff. Educated to degree level and only a bit fat because of wine (which I was not fed).

I bet back in the 50s many of these bf kids are more intelligent/thinner threads would have been reversed and about ff. It was the done thing back then for the middle classes to ff. So how come all those 50s ff kids are not all huge and stupid? Hmm

Maybe it comes down to a hell of a lot more than bf vs ff?

emsyj · 15/02/2011 20:31

I was FF and so were both my siblings. My mum had us in the 60s and 70s when FF was 'the norm' and she doesn't really 'get' BF.

I am chubby. My sister is chubby. My brother is superskinny.

I am still bf 8.5mo DD.

scottishmummy · 15/02/2011 20:31

tea and puree square sausage with broon sauce for me

InspirationalBreadbin · 15/02/2011 20:31

FF - Phd from Cambridge, have modelled, and run marathons. Yes, really.

scottishmummy · 15/02/2011 20:32

hark at you!

posey · 15/02/2011 20:32

I was breast fed til about 3 months then like Anathemadevice was weaned onto tea, or a bottle with crushed rusks added if I was particularly hungry Grin

I am a very average 42 year old now.

InspirationalBreadbin · 15/02/2011 20:33

stinkypinky · 15/02/2011 20:33

BF for 4 months, then Carnation (diluted I guess). I am 41, and that is what my Mum was advised to do. I am very intelligent, but rather chunky, but am still bfing 9mo DD2, and do not lose weight until I stop bfing. Still love Carnation!

breathing · 15/02/2011 20:33

I am the oldest of 7, born in the 60's.
I think my mother tried for a bit with me but pretty much ff all of us. No idea how long she tried with me though, cant imagine it was more than a month or so, but I am the only one who has a weight problem. All of us educated to postgraduate level, no asthma or exema or any allergies. No diabetes or cardiovascular problems.

lazylula · 15/02/2011 20:33

I was breast fed to begin with but I think, from what I can remember my mum saying, only for a few weeks as she suffered 2 haemmorages after having me and the 2nd one I was 'too old' to be admitted to hospital with her, so my nan had me and I had to be bottle fed.

scottishmummy · 15/02/2011 20:33

mmm carnation milk makes lovely tablet

FF from the start , never had a day off work sick in my life, honestly!
two degrees and two post grad degrees, I have also modelled ( dont run bleedin marathons though, hats off to scottish mummy ):)

BitOfFun · 15/02/2011 20:34

Formula fed. Good job really- if I were any more intelligent and attractive, I'd find it hard to make friends.

maddy68 · 15/02/2011 20:34

oooh and still a size 8 so not over weight

MadameDefarge · 15/02/2011 20:35

My four elder siblings were BF, I was FF. I got the allergies, but to be fair, we had diff fathers and allergies rampant in my DFs.

BF ds till thrush then struggled to get him back to BF, so mixed fed. still, poke in the eye for BF counsellor who just told me he clearly prefers bottles. Bah!

Not militant at all, FF saved ds from starvation. eternally grateful for that.
