If you were formula fed, you are probably, thick, fat and/or dead/on your last legs by now.

If you were breastfed, you are probably highly intelligent, with supermodel looks and are 125/going to reach 125 (but only if you were EBF until you were 16).

AIBU?

Yes, I know a thread about a thread but I could not resist.

I was breastfed and then formula fed from maybe 9 months or so?

I know my mum breastfed my sister until she was a year so she didn't need to use formula.

Pretty intelligent and slender. Younger sister also intelligent and also slender. More so than me although I have two children and she doesn't have any and so she has tine to catch up.

Honeydragon · 15/02/2011 20:35

Same as chandellina!

Me too Grin

Brother - handsome, intelligent, good career and wealthy.

Me, skint, minger and crap jobs.

MaeMobley · 15/02/2011 20:35

FF. Dear Mother thought breastfeeding was for peasants.

Breastfeeding was a revelation for me.

CrystalQueen · 15/02/2011 20:35

FF because my mum didn't have enough milk. No mum, you were let down by the total lack of support and look, history repeated itself 31 years later .

And I have a PhD, am not as skinny as I once was but not fat, tragically not a supermodel though. No allergies or any health problems so far.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 15/02/2011 20:36

bf for about a week, then ff. My mother found bf "disgusting"

I am fat, reasonably intelligent, have many illnesses (see profile!) and am quite possibly on my last legs Grin

Which is possibly more to do with the fags and booze and stuffing my face till I was sick and less to do with formula. Grin

yama · 15/02/2011 20:36

Totally ff, on solids at 6 weeks and then as a child we were given quartered oranges with a saucer of sugar to dip into (yum).

I remember my Mum once said that she looked at all the nutrients on a box of formula and thought that nothing could be better.

I have bf two children.

Formula fed here. Am almost finished my law degree while working full time so cant be that thick. Get fat during pregnancy but quickly loose it. Dont have any allergies/ asthma etc.. very healthy as far as Im aware.

breathing · 15/02/2011 20:38

I came from a ff culture and didnt see anyone bf until i was in my 30's (friend that is)

JemimaMop · 15/02/2011 20:39

BF. Am asthmatic and get eczema and hayfever. I am a little overweight. I have a degree.

Ironically of my 3 DC the one who was BF for the longest is the one who inherited my asthma.

peppapighastakenovermylife · 15/02/2011 20:40

Yes because it is that simple isn't it Hmm

Risk. Averages. Part of a bigger picture.

BachAtTheMoon · 15/02/2011 20:41

I was FF. Mum had terrible psoriasis all over her which made it impossible to BF.

I am not completely unfortunate looking, can answer lots of questions on university challenge but have a slighty chubby tummy due to stuffing my face with Galaxy 2 children.. Grin

stickylittlefingers · 15/02/2011 20:43

yup, FF, have loads of qualifications, am not overweight or allergic to stuff.

BF both my girls, though. Mostly because for me it was nice and easy and free. Mum was very supportive.

curlymama · 15/02/2011 20:43

BF, size 10, never ill, reasonably intelligent but nowhere near boffin like. Fairly normal really.

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 15/02/2011 20:43

ff was size 6 before ds now a 10. no allergies and reasonably intelligent.

PickleSarnie · 15/02/2011 20:43

BF - I could recite the national anthem at a year old and graduated from Oxford at the age of 7.

TCOB · 15/02/2011 20:43

Looks like it's conclusive then. BFing is a load of old shit and FF will make you a model/ athlete/ brain surgeon. Is someone going to pass on the happy news to the WHO so they can end this BFing crap?

LaWeaselMys · 15/02/2011 20:45

[sniggers]

To be fair, I was BF for a long time I think. (getting onto a year, maybe more - not sure exactly) But did have a ff patch near the beginning as my mum was very ill. My sister was definately 100% bf.

I have exzema, asthma and dust allergies, so does my sister. Hers are worse than mine. These are genetic from my father but clearly mothers antibodies did sod all against them! DD has exzema too, and I bf her for a year.

I am pretty slim but sis is chubbier than me. We're both dyslexic but generally bright. And our life expectancy is a pile of rubbish due to high cancer, alzheimers and bad mental health rates in our family.

Breastmilk would have to be the bloody elixir of life to make any difference to us, and it clearly didn't!

HumphreyCobbler · 15/02/2011 20:45

you are all setting up a staw man here.

Supporting breastfeeding does not mean you think that formula makes you thick or fat. I didn't bust a gut to breastfeed my dd because I thought it would make them thin and intelligent ffs. Oh, and I did both, so does that make it ok for me to comment?

LaWeaselMys · 15/02/2011 20:46

TCOB - it's not about saying bm is bad. It's about saying "formula will stunt your child" being stupid and unhelpful.

JemimaMop · 15/02/2011 20:48

Notice though that although I managed to still be asthmatic and have allergies despite being BF, I chose to BF my own children. Which indicates that I don't think it is a load of old rubbish, I think that it was the best thing for my children. I do however think that sometimes people do go a little overboard on the claims of what BF can do for your child.

LilBB · 15/02/2011 20:49

I was FF as my mum is one of those very few women who does not produce breastmilk. Siblings and I are all intelligent and slim. However so is my mum (who was BF) so maybe it's more to do with genetics than milk.

StarlightPrincess · 15/02/2011 20:49

Totally FF. And I'm gorgeous, slim and smart! Smile

ddubsgirl · 15/02/2011 20:49

i was ff as was my brother mum had no milk when she had us
