Please tell me there are some normal, non social climbing Hampshire sorts out there, that are not psuedo (how do you spell that?) country folk, up their own arses tossers with massive 4wd cars that run you off the road and have never heard of state education? GRRRRR moved from the North and finding Hampshire tricky!

There were raised eyebrows too when the Kings Head turned into a Chinese feeky, I can tell you!

There was a van of some description, but it was turfed out onto the outskirts!

Lovely village though I agree feeky, adorable, at christmas with the snow falling and the lights and decorations up..

Niecie · 09/02/2011 23:46

feekychucker - I agree about HW. I don't find it particularly posh. There are an awful lot of terrace cottages on the main route through the village and around the centre. Some of them are even local authority or ex local authority 70's built boxes too! Shock

It is a nice village though but I think Odiham is posher!

I love my 4x4 - wouldn't dream of wearing wellies though - country boots for me!

Kryshees · 10/02/2011 10:43

ok....new forest/christchurch (well anyone that wants to come!)

A gathering of 4x4 types, wellies critical for identification purposes...

Perhaps somewhere like Lepe or Moors Valley? (lots of parking at Moors and good access)

But perhaps when it is not raining...? So sometime after feb, maybe march???

Weekday? I like mondays or tuesday as dd is in nursery wed-fri. Or over a lunch time picnic?

Lots of blankets, food, kids going wild!? All in say aye...or mail me and I can remind us all in March!
x

BBM found this and I snaffled it from her FB

Enjoy!

I am in Hampshire and moved from....London! But a lot of people in London are not really from there either and just forced to be there for work! My London friends were mainly from Kent, Dorset, Birmingham, I am from Hertfordshire and my dh is from Somerset. A lot of people have the ambition to get out when they can, and often to get back to somewhere nearer where they came from.
A big NO! to 4 x 4s here! Far too many of them in town. On yer bike!
And yes to state school!
Wellies are good for splashing in puddles but you are more likely to see me in walking boots, running shoes, or barefoot on the beach.

LMHF - That is Farnborough in a nutshell! Am tempted to send it to my Farnborough based BIL but I am not sure how it would go down!Smile

kryshees, Moors Valley is a good idea. I work FT so couldn't meet up in the week but it sounds like a fab idea!

CamperFan · 10/02/2011 14:39

Kryshees, can I vote for Tues if beginning of week is best for you? Yes Moors Valley good, but definitely weather a bit better first!

Kryshees · 10/02/2011 20:53

I've never been to the reptile centre bit in the forest...any good as an alternative?

Or that one down by st ives roundabout?

Sorry, highjacked thread...shall I move? x

NinkyNonker · 10/02/2011 20:57

I'm up for it, beginning of the week best for me too if we go weekday. I will have DD, but will leave the crazy dogs behind!

HoorahHilda · 11/02/2011 21:37
