Single male friend, just been on 2 weeks holiday where he paid women to fuck him.
Have had quite a cerebral discussion with him about it.
He says it is not seedy , no pimps blah blah.

I thought I was open minded but it just seems wrong.

going to try and clear up a few issues raised on this forum, coz it has got a little out of hand.
I am 32 male caucasian (thats white) married to a girl fom london for the last 7 years.
I returned from thailand 6 months ago, where myself, wife and son lived for last 6 years. I worked as an engineer for a brittish firm in bangkok. i`m not a sex tourist.
i have travelled ALL over thailand, i have a lot of friends in thailand male and female. Child sex is very much frowned upon in thailand and carries very heavy penaltilies. It is like child sex here it is a very closed scence. Cambodia on the other hand is rife with child prostitutes, you have your locations wrong.
prostitution (with girls 18+) in bars clubs etc happens mainly in tourist areas,
like pattaya, patong, bangkok. these girls need to make money, i would be very surprised if they were sold in prostitution, considering i have been in issan (thats north, poor countryside) and have seen the girls that come home with the money for the families and the families love having them home.
i have a wife i love very much and want nobody else ever, and no i dont partake in the pay for play scene. just get your facts straight.
I left because my contract was finished im in NYC now, not because my kid is getting older, just in case someone throws that at me, he was in a very good international school.

Friendship does not include supporting friends who carry out illegal activities that may directly or indirectly physically or mentally hurt another person or animal. If you were friends with someone for even 20+ years but found out that they were a child abuser or serial killer - would you remain friends with them? Unlikely!

If it is abhorent to you that someone takes advantage of women (or children) in a third world country who have no other means of survival other than selling their body, then personally I would think your 'friendship' falls under the category in the above paragraph.

He is kidding himself/falling for the patter if he thinks these women don't have pimps and are not exploited. What a crock. They have pimps, they are exploited it is just they tell the story their client wants to hear. He doesn't perceive himself as 'seedy' so he wants to hear that the women he choses to pay to have sex with are all very comfortable with being prostitutes, like it is a career choice for them.

He doesn't want to look himself in the mirror and accept that he is an active part of the sex trade.

I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who paid regularly for sex full stop, even less so if they did it in a third world country where many prostitutes are exploited because they are poor and desperate. OP, yanbu.
