I'm fed up with being told that I don't understand the real world because I earn so much, that I shouldn't drive my daughter 1/2 mile to school in my Range Rover, that private schools are elitist and places I use to keep my children away from 'the poor', that I should consider myself 'lucky' that I live in luxury and that I shouldn't tell my children to be selective about what sort of people their friends are.

Well, I'm proud of my family's hard work and I think I can live my life as I please. And yes, people ARE responsible for their own destinies and we SHOULD judge more.

Oh bore off. Nobody cares how rich and happy you are.

saintknickerless · 22/01/2011 21:30

Well in the spirit of your OP I'm going to judge that your daughter would be healthier if she walked to school.

Nice! Have a well-earned Bear!!

But driving your Range Rover 1/2 mile to school is ecologically unsound, I'm afraid. You are fully entitled to be a rich nob, but not entitled to ruin the planet for everyone else just because you can afford to. Grin

pagwatch · 22/01/2011 21:31

Arf... Grin

mutznutz · 22/01/2011 21:31

Driving your Range Rover 1/2 a mile to school is ridiculous!

I just get my Butler to do it Grin

deardot · 22/01/2011 21:32

So if someone say came from an abusive family and had spent their childhood being raped and spent their life in poverty because they were scared forever? Was that person in charge of their destiny?

Or everyone with mental health difficulties and physical impairments?

Or anyone born in a poor country struggling to eat everyday? Is that their fault?

You are entitled to do as you please but do you need to be an ignorant hater in the process?

You are a (insert the obvious here)

Catnao · 22/01/2011 21:32

You ARE lucky...and I AM jealous. If it's making you feel guilty, I'm happy to do a swap if you like?

friedtoacrisp · 22/01/2011 21:32

Two words.

Epic

Fail

Grin
Lovesdogsandcats · 22/01/2011 21:32

Tell you what, why not turn this round...are you sure YOU are not the jealous one, jealous of normal everyday people who do not have a huge chip on their shoulders about status?

Your life must be so stressful, constantly thinking about money and possessions, because I can assure you, no-one thinks about these things to the degree that you obviously do!

Lilyloo · 22/01/2011 21:33

I completely agree ......

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 22/01/2011 21:34

deardot - don't get wound up by under bridge dwellers - they just aren't worth it x

deardot · 22/01/2011 21:34

The rich are not happy. They are scared. Of being poor.

Poor people deal with it and survive, stuck up twats can not survive being poor, they are rubbish at it.

Catnao · 22/01/2011 21:34

I just asked the under gardener, and he said that he thought the OP was BU, and the second footman agreed with him.

Would you mind if I rubbed myself up and down on your leg a while. I won't bother you .

Thanks awfully.

TheMonster · 22/01/2011 21:36

I'm jealous. I would go and kill myself in my car but I can't get the old banger to start.

PatPending · 22/01/2011 21:36

YABU for having a Range Rover - should be a Bently!

pagwatch · 22/01/2011 21:36

Deardot.

Don't be daft. Not worth getting wound up.

deardot · 22/01/2011 21:38

My OH family are actually rich and will send our child to private school. We don't drive a SUV because it is a selfish thing to do for the environment alone, we drive but we try and be kind about it.

We as a family detest OP's sort and choose not to associate with them. Just because we have money doesn't mean we have to be horrible people.
