I'm fed up with being told that I don't understand the real world because I earn so much, that I shouldn't drive my daughter 1/2 mile to school in my Range Rover, that private schools are elitist and places I use to keep my children away from 'the poor', that I should consider myself 'lucky' that I live in luxury and that I shouldn't tell my children to be selective about what sort of people their friends are.

Well, I'm proud of my family's hard work and I think I can live my life as I please. And yes, people ARE responsible for their own destinies and we SHOULD judge more.

The beauty of this forum used to be that we were all here for similar reasons and had no idea of the social standing or finances of the others Things have changed since the nouveau have marched in though Mn has been infiltrated with people trying to prove their MC credentials, laughable and a bit scary!

bupcakesandcunting · 24/01/2011 10:22

Yeah but to be fair, LOTM, you have "featured" on other threads moaning about people with regional accents for example.

You're a plastic posho. I've got your measure, young woman.

LadyOfTheManor · 24/01/2011 13:40

Urm I moaned about the mis pronounciation of things, actually; and after 600 posts, I wasn't the only one :o

cheekyseamonkey · 24/01/2011 13:47

Hilarious, what a [insert random vagina based expletive], you give poshos a bad name!

bupcakesandcunting · 24/01/2011 15:54

Urm, no you didn't. Don'tmake me search your posts to prove you wrong because I will...

OpenAmyrillis · 24/01/2011 15:59

And would it kill you to walk with her? Or are you worried the plebs might get you?

TandB · 24/01/2011 15:59

Sorry, Ladyofthemanor, I remember the regional accents comment as well. Something about all geordies sounding like Cheryl Cole, wasn't it? I remember it as I loathe Cheryl Cole with a passion and my family are from her town so I had to sit on my hands when I read that comment!

If I remember correctly it was on the thread about someone hating living in Manchester.

OpenAmyrillis · 24/01/2011 16:00

oops seem to have popped in on this thinking it was a short'n, seems to be a long'n...< goes and lies in front of school gates in anticipation of OP's landrover running me down>

bupcakesandcunting · 24/01/2011 16:11

No, it was a thread about a mother expressing her Shock that some mothers she mixed with said they hoped their DCs didn't pick up the local accent, despite that poster having said accent. LOTM then came on going "oh regional accents are like so naff, yeah? I'm an accent snob so shoot me, yah?"

I loathe plastic poshos (except LeQueen cos she funny innit) Why is it that Stephen Fry, possibly one of the poshest men in England, openly embraces "common" people and is genuinely interested in the nuances of natives from different regions yet some nobs think they're above it all? Hmmmm?

OpenAmyrillis · 24/01/2011 16:22

If we're talking about hilarious accents how about the public school/ army English accent... (psst....its not a real accent)

stropicana2011 · 24/01/2011 16:27

Bully for you. Sticks tongue out at op and runs off. Wink

bupcakesandcunting · 24/01/2011 16:38

Oh I like posh accents. I love hearing a proper, 1940's, clipped, RP accent. It's lovely. But I like regional accents too. I went out with someone on the strength of their regional accent once. Even though he had a face that would scare a copper's horse

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 24/01/2011 16:39

Meh

OpenAmyrillis · 24/01/2011 16:41

hahah bupcakes I'm a west country girl and my OH recoils if he thinks a 'my luvver' might slip out!

Ormirian · 24/01/2011 16:42

Bit of a pointless OP surely. I am perfect, I am not doing anything wrong and I am going to carry on doing exactly the same as I always have.

Erm.... right. OK then. On you go!

Ormirian · 24/01/2011 16:43

Oh dear. Tis a joke.

noddyholder · 24/01/2011 16:43

bupcakes they are terrified of being found out They aren't the real deal and we all might rumble them!

bupcakesandcunting · 24/01/2011 16:48

I love a proper West Country accent. They're ace!

That's the point I was trying to make, noddy Wink Thank you Grin

LadyOfTheManor · 24/01/2011 18:16

I never say "naff". I'm sure I'm not the only one to despise Newcastle accents and Mancunian accents.

I don't mind accents from London, I quite like to hear those, I also love Somerset accents, and Scottish accents. So there.

Summerbird73 · 25/01/2011 09:34

Ladyofthemanor Shock i am a geordie! and FWIW i dont sound like Cheryl Cole [bangry]

You are a snobbity snob snobby snob
