to think other parents are just jealous really?

I'm fed up with being told that I don't understand the real world because I earn so much, that I shouldn't drive my daughter 1/2 mile to school in my Range Rover, that private schools are elitist and places I use to keep my children away from 'the poor', that I should consider myself 'lucky' that I live in luxury and that I shouldn't tell my children to be selective about what sort of people their friends are.

Well, I'm proud of my family's hard work and I think I can live my life as I please. And yes, people ARE responsible for their own destinies and we SHOULD judge more.

Nothing to be jealous of, you have to drive the Range Rover yourself. Am personally feeling a little sorry for you, and would encourage others to do the same. So nice not to have to do the school run oneself.

noddyholder · 23/01/2011 21:11

is it kerry katona Who else would have such a dreadful boast list

scottishmummy · 23/01/2011 21:21

nah not queen kaza,"my family's hard work" wouldnt trip off her tongue.seeing she wouldnt know hard work if it bit her on the arse

walkinZombie · 23/01/2011 21:27

I'm jealous you can drive and I can't , lol

at the risk of sounding very 'common' I don't envy privately educated people.

The education may ber better(judging by recent news how much better tho)

The social ,and emotional and practical maturity gained by miximg with people from every walk of life is invaluble. They arent bad places thats just MO. most will probably disagree lol

LadyOfTheManor · 23/01/2011 21:31

I am here you know.

bupcakesandcunting · 23/01/2011 21:34

Marvellous.

TCOB · 23/01/2011 21:36

Do you get to shag Matt Baker every night too? If you do - then I really am jealous. Otherwise - meh.

scottishmummy · 23/01/2011 21:36

bupcakesandcunting · 23/01/2011 21:38

LadyOfTheManor · 23/01/2011 21:40

toeragsnotriches · 23/01/2011 21:46

I'm jealous of many people but from what you've told us about your life, you're not one of them.

scottishmummy · 23/01/2011 21:46

ach go on regale us with your filthy mula stories, do you hang with any schlebs or just horsey types

bupcakesandcunting · 23/01/2011 21:50

Ye Gods, don't encourage her, ScottishMummy. I don't want to hear that shite. If I want to read about faux-posh bints, I'll stick my fisog in a Jilly Cooper.

Ripeberry · 23/01/2011 21:52

Trip trap? Anyway, the higher up you are the further you fall. Rather be 'comfortable' than rich.

AnnieLobeseder · 23/01/2011 21:52

Oh dear, are people still taking this thread seriously? Read the whole thing, people! Or are you just joining in the piss-take and I'm making a fool of myself (again)?

pointythings · 23/01/2011 21:52

Having G&T tonight, straws welcome.

LOTM, lots of us work our tits off but aren't rich because the (gasp) low paid jobs need doing too, y'know? So don't brag, it's sooo nouveau riche...

scottishmummy · 23/01/2011 21:53

what's a jilly cooper?a car?i want stories of how the waxy jackets and mudflaps set live.and i want schlocky gosspip

TCOB · 23/01/2011 21:57

OP - do you live in the Cotswolds? I think I saw you at Daylesford Farm shoppe. I was begging outside (just asking for £5 for a cup of organic soy latte) and you kicked me out of the way.

gordyslovesheep · 23/01/2011 22:04

... with her diamond tipped shoes no doubt TCOB !

I am more proud of dragging myself out of poverty and through the state education system to where I am now - and having done that all by myself rather than via marriage - yay GO ME! (common northen type that I am)

FellatioNelson · 23/01/2011 22:08

Do you really drive half a mile to school in a Range Rover? That's terrible. Really terrible. the rest is fine though.

scottishmummy · 23/01/2011 22:14

i know mums who drive a few streets to school.walking distance, but drive

Ripeberry · 23/01/2011 22:19

I drive a mile to school in a 10yr old Zafira as we don't have a pavement and the road outside the school is a death trap, giant lorries thundering up and down and no pavements or anywhere to stand apart from in the middle of the road Shock

onceamai · 23/01/2011 22:21

Doesn't matter how much money you have if you have no class - and clearly you don't otherwise you wouldn't be discussing it. Grin

LadyOfTheManor · 24/01/2011 08:20
  1. I didn't brag about anything, I also didn't out myself either side of the line distinguishing rich/poor, I merely pointed out that I'm sick of other people moaning if someone has money.

  2. If she had that much money, she'd have diamonds on the soles of her shoes, not the tips.

  3. Well done for having a job. (Not as sarcastic as it sounds, it's just refreshing to hear that people actually work in this day and age)
