Peed off with Amazon

bubaluba · 16/12/2010 21:39

I placed 2 orders with Amazon on 5th Dec that have still to turn up. The estimated delivery dates were 10th and 14th Dec (not sure why 4 days apart when I ordered them half an hour apart). I e-mailed them yesterday to say they hadn't turned up and got the standard e-mail saying wait until 20th/21st Dec. If they have not arrived by then they will either resend but state I won't receive until after Christmas or will give me a full refund. To add salt into the wound, I received an e-mail today reminding me about the last date for Christmas orders!

I am seriously annoyed as I think their response is crap. I don't understand why they can't offer free next day delivery in these instances.

Not sure if I have any rights to receive my order within the advertised time?

Were they coming via CityLink? Because they're well backed-up, don't know why they're still accepting orders. (And they are, I just ordered from Amazon tonight and it'll come via CityLink... yeah, I'll believe it when I see it! Angry They've [CityLink] had £90 of my goods since December 2!)

emy72 · 16/12/2010 21:42

Me too!! Same issue here!!!

bubaluba · 16/12/2010 21:45

My orders are coming by Royal Mail so I can't even track the orders.

....and me....2 Wii games ordered within minutes of each other on the 7th December. One arrived a day later and there is no sign of the other!!

Got the standard email etc etc

I emailed back and went berserk!!!! Grin told them I had ordered these games for my DS4 using my MN Secret Santas Amazon voucher....really laid it on with a trowel IYKWIM...then said 'I tell you what, YOU email my son and explain to him, you spineless gits!!'

Am still awaiting a reply. They also told me to email them on the 20th if the item hadn't arrived....Oh believe me I will!!!! I will email them and then send the sarcastic email every 10 minutes starting on the 20th December....I WILL WIN Grin

LolaBellsAllTheWay · 16/12/2010 21:49

Oh I ordered from amazon and apparently it was dispatched today. How do you know who is sending it?

I've only ordered one thing online and its for my 6 year old niece and she is the only person who would be bothered about not having a present, I could explain to the adults and all other kids are too young to realise. I hope it arrives now!

PaisleyLeaf · 16/12/2010 21:50

I know, I know...
expected delivery date for me was 6th Dec for something I ordered on 30th Nov (You'd think that'd be enough time wouldn't you?).
And yes, I also got that flaming 'last order date for xmas' e-mail.

blueberrysantabait · 16/12/2010 21:53

I ordered soemthing on the 14th November, recieved an e-mail saying dispatched by citylink on the 18th and I am still waiting - they said it will arrive but they can't say when but to e-mail if I don't have it tomorrow BUT they will not promise it will be here for Christmas luckily it is only for DH and he will understand.

blueberrysantabait · 16/12/2010 21:54

I will spell things correctly in my e-mail to them though! Xmas Grin

annie987 · 16/12/2010 21:54

Reorder the items - you are more likely to get new orders delivered. Then when the old ones turn up finally send them back for a refund.

bubaluba · 16/12/2010 21:55

lolabellsalltheway, did it say it was being sent by Amazon or another retailer? If you go into My Account and look at My Orders it will tell you who sent it and how it is being sent.

shabbapinkfrog - DH has just suggested if there are enough disgruntled Mumsnetters we send them the link on 20th Dec!

I am waiting for a book which is part of my brother's present. Ordered it 4th Dec and had a delivery date of the 10th. Still not here.

maxybrown · 16/12/2010 21:59

I think post just very slow.

My amazon orders came today, can't even remeber when I ordered them, but hey ho.

I had two parcels arrive sent on 2nd Dec, one from Boden. But my newer (time wise I mean) stuff is coming next day atm!

openerofjars · 16/12/2010 21:59

Same here, am gobsmacked that they think their piss-poor response to them losing my order is remotely acceptable. Grr.

They have said they will resend my order, just checked progress online and they won't be doing it until Jan 8th.

And they've had the nerve, the brass bloody neck, to ask me to piss about cancelling and returning orders is both turn up.

Hmph. And Grr again.

foxinsocks · 16/12/2010 22:01

years and years and years I have ordered with Amazon. Am a prime customer and all.

They have managed to lose 3 of my orders - of those 3, 2 represent1 order that had to be resent twice that still hasn't turned up!

I don't blame Amazon, I blame Royal Mail. All my courier parcels turned up fine. Everything posted through Royal Mail went missing! The utter bastards!

backwardpossom · 16/12/2010 22:02

I think YABU to be honest. Do you expect Amazon to send each of you out a new one of your orders? How much would that cost them? It's not their fault, the post is backed up due to bad weather. Would the world end if you didn't get the items before Christmas? Really?

I'm sorry that your items haven't arrived yet, really I am, but I don't think you'll get anywhere with a MN campaign against them?!

becaroodolf · 16/12/2010 22:03

I have been having issues too, although my items have finally arrived.

Both items were 5/6 days late - no reason given. Both items delivered by Royal Mail so untrackable.

I have been a (very good!) customer of amazon for 15 years and this is the only time I have had problems....I wonder if its because they have a big depot in glasgow and the weather is the problem??

foxinsocks · 16/12/2010 22:04

btw, I have never had this problem with Amazon before, even last year with all that snow.

I got something from Citylink today from John Lewis. At least with couriers you can phone them and find out what's going on.

With bloody Royal Mail, there's no sodding tracking at all! Argh!

BrandyButterPie · 16/12/2010 22:04

I pay extra to get "prime" delivery, which atm just isn't happening. I'm currently missing various orders totalling quite a lot, and they all say they were dispatched ages ago, no tracking info, and estimated delivery time has passed.

GRRRRRRRR!!!

blueberrysantabait · 16/12/2010 22:05

Backward - I don't want another parcel I just want the one I ordered nearly 6 weeks ago which was on a 3-5 day delivery time.

backwardpossom · 16/12/2010 22:06

Aye, but the OP is banging on about Amazon's customer service not being good enough - so I'm asking what she expects given it's hardly Amazon's fault...

foxinsocks · 16/12/2010 22:06

nah, backwardpossum, it's piss poor

the problem is, if they KNEW there was an issue, they should have changed their delivery states.

Even on Monday, they told me a replacement would be sent (when they admitted one of the parcels must have got lost) and said it would be here on Tuesday. Even gave that date on the website! It's not here yet.

You don't, in business, tell people when something will be delivered, and then not do it!

PaisleyLeaf · 16/12/2010 22:08

backwardpossom - I don't think they should be sending out that 'last order date for xmas' e-mail though.

I've got a couple of parcels that haven't turned up yet, but I just think oh well, they'll turn up when they turn up. There's nothing I can do that'll make them turn up quicker.

Maybe I'm just really laid back. sigh

backwardpossom · 16/12/2010 22:10

Paisley I'll give you that! Xmas Grin
