...and have rotten eggs and tomatos thrown at them.
How dare they go on holiday and be allowed to have christmas presents etc
They should live on bread and dripping.

You do understand the irony of you being condescending towards people, for engaging in debates on a message board, don't you?

MerrilyDefective · 05/12/2010 17:03

VG your Dad.
I shall endeavour to use that saying.

Grin and Blush
Actually I was using too many rude words and I must stop. It isn' t good.

But it does amaze me that a person can engage with multiple posters who have loved ones with staggeringly difficult issues and tell them they deserve no help and are a burden to the system, and think that is fine
But I say ' well I think that makes you a callous fuck ' and they are suddenly bullied and victims.

pagwatch · 05/12/2010 17:10

And they never answer the child benefit question... Claiming money that may not be essential or deserved is fine when they get it......

stickylittlefingers · 05/12/2010 17:11

we afford what we choose to afford, and that strikes me as a good use of £10.

Yes, I know most carers will say they wouldn't want anyone else to look after their child/spouse/parent, but it's still one of the toughest jobs there is, and certainly an awful lot tougher and a lot less well paid than the job I do...

So carers out there, please do not feel that everyone is begrudging the mite you get, because everyone is most definitely not.

Hopelesslydisorganised · 05/12/2010 17:57

Twas me who wished this disability cupcake and nasty of me it was too. No nastier than lifeforrent and her pathetic opinions though. And get this - she'd be eligible for the generous DLA with a whole £10 Christmas bonus - her cup would truly runneth over Xmas Hmm

Actually Pag I am offended....why won't you gang up with me as well?

It's because you are from Surrey isn't it? Grin

Cup - I think I was someone who mentioned something about walking in other people's shoes. Well, I said that I thank my lucky stars daily that I am not disabled and having to rely on benefits and that I actually feel lucky to be fit and able to work and pay taxes. I do realise that everyone has challenges in life, and of course I do too. However, thankfully none of my challenges have ever been anything like the challenges that disabled people or their carers have to deal with on a daily basis.

cupcakebakerer · 05/12/2010 19:55

Ha ha!!! You live in Surrey!!?? That's the best laugh I've had all day - no wonder you think benefit fraud is few and far between and limited to the minds of DM readers. Bless you.

Surrey is an affluent county with a service based economy closely tied to that of London. Surrey has the highest GDP per capita of any county in the UK and the highest cost of living in the UK outside of London. Surrey is credited with having the highest proportion of millionaires in the UK. The average wage in Surrey is bolstered by the high number of residents who work in financial services.[14]

cupcakebakerer · 05/12/2010 20:00

Hopelessly - you are condoning wishing a disability on someone?

StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 05/12/2010 20:10

I live in a battered old northen industrial city - still don't know many people commiting benefit fraud. In fact, I know ONE. I know a few people reduced to panic by the benefits system though....

cupcakebakerer · 05/12/2010 20:51

So which is it stuck? You hate the benefits system? You love the benefits system? You seem to believe in people who need benefits receiving them (as do I) but also say it reduces people to panic...

Pag - but I say well that makes you a callous f* and they are suddenly bullied and victims. 1.eloquent! 2. So you have been accused of bullying before have you?

pagwatch · 05/12/2010 21:07

Cupcake

You are struggling here a bit aren't you sweetie?

I have already said that I hold no truck with benefit fraud. That is not and has not been the primary thrust of the thread. It is only rawly you that keeps blathering on about fraud.
You first thought my views were based on being on benefits and now because I live in too affluent an area. Which is it?

No never been accused of bullying.
You and I have a different view of what constitutes bullying though. You seem to view bullying as more than one person disagreeing with you. I have found that it is often the case that more than one person disagrees with you because you are being a twit.

Certainly I have had that experience.I have been a twit often. I have always tried to have the grace to reflect on whether I should reconsider my views rather than just....snipe

c0rns1lk · 05/12/2010 21:10

We all want Pag to bully us she is very masterful

c0rns1lk · 05/12/2010 21:19
StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 05/12/2010 21:20

What a bizarre statement.

The benefits system is nesscary. It is however far too hard on the vulnerable. I rarely have such black and white opinions as you would like me to. Sorry!
