I hope they are not my babysitter's because that would mean she has been removing her knickers, rather than sitting pleasantly in my house looking after my children.

I have left them where they are.

If they disappear when dh leaves at 4am tomorrow, I shall know they are his.

They definitely weren't there when dh and I left the house to go out to dinner.

They definitely were there by the time we had got back, paid the baby sitter, had a coffee, sorted everything out for his work trip tomorrow, gone to bed, and then I came down for a glass of water.

No fog. No cat. My husband is DEFINITELY not sleeping with the babysitter. A logistical impossibility. And he was out with me all evening.

Maybe she had them in a bag and went through her bag on the sofa. Knickers fell out by mistake. She has them in her bag because she was going to wear them later while out on the pull and needs a new pair fo the morning? It's possible - isn't it?

My vote is for the babysitter She probably put on fresh knickers just before coming to yours as she knew the minute you were gone her bloke was coming over to shag her senseless on your sofa.

If they were worn I would assume they were hers and she's been shagging someone on the sofa. But they're very fresh. I even sniffed them (sorry but it's not every day a lacy pink thing turns up uninvited in my living room).

If they haven't been worn, could it be that the babysitter brought spare pants with her and left them by accident?

Could they have fallen out of her bag? Did she have an overnight bag with her? Gym kit with her? New shopping?
