I wouldn't have thought of them being his, except they appeared near a pile of things he is taking on a work trip tomorrow.

I hope they are not my babysitter's because that would mean she has been removing her knickers, rather than sitting pleasantly in my house looking after my children.

Babysitter had them in her bag as she was going straight to her boyfriend's after yours and they fell out when she was rummaging in her bag to find a mirror to check her make up.

There's lots of ways a pair of unworn knickers could have got there.

How about - she was carrying her washing to put away and a pair of knickers fell out the pile. She came across them on the floor at her home on her way out and put them in her pocket / bag, and somehow they came out at yours.

Or she could have just bought them, and they fell out of her bag.

Sounds unlikely perhaps, but there is no likely story that ends up with a pair of knickers on your sofa. However there they are, so something strange has occurred!

Incidentally, if your babysitter is also your cleaner then she's bound to do something with them (put them away maybe?) when she comes across them whether they're hers or not - isn't she?
