Snobear4000 · 29/07/2010 21:07

There seems to be some snobbishness going on here. Kids looking working class? How common. Got anything proper to be worried about, OP?

usualsuspect · 29/07/2010 21:21

was going to post you that picture sea

clarabella23 · 29/07/2010 21:26

Just wondering...none of the people who said yes to girls no to boys were posting on the elc thread yesterday about the seperation of genders were they?

domesticsluttery · 29/07/2010 21:32

Oh dear, I have to admit to having bought DS1 a football shirt with his name on the back for his birthday... and he has very short hair!

southeastastra · 29/07/2010 21:35

freddie could really carry off a vest couldn't he?

ChateauRouge · 29/07/2010 21:53

and a moustache...

OctaviaH · 29/07/2010 22:18

OMG wait- are vest tops on women considered chavvy then? Dn just bought one to wear to a work trial to a beach restaurant- the uniform is denim and breton stripes. Will they think she is a horrible chav if she turns up in a vest top??? It is from topshop with thickish straps (not spaghetti)

AlaskaNebraska · 29/07/2010 23:04

O think vest tops onceomem are for really hot days only

DD (4) has a bright orange vest top with weird criss cross straps, a section cut out the back, a picture of Hannah Montana on the front and a generous layer of pink glitter over it. It was a present from ex MIL - DD is only allowed to wear it to bed, never out of the house. Why do they even make such hideous things for such small children?

VirginonRidiculous · 30/07/2010 00:47

Who gives a flying fuck as long as the children are happy? FFS far too much thought put in to how your child looks. Get a fucking grip!

FellatioNelson · 30/07/2010 14:13

Yes they are horrid, for some reason I can't quite put my finger on. But then they are pretty horrid on adults as well, especially fat ones over 40 - anywhere other than the beach or gardening.

Having said that, my 10 year old DS loves them and he gets really hot, so he has a few. But I try to limit them to times when we won't be seen by anyone we know.

Maylee · 30/07/2010 22:46

OP - hope no-one ever says "ewwww" to your DC. Can't imagine it would be very nice.

By the way, my DS sometimes wears sleeveless tops and if I ever caught anyone throwing him an ewwwww type look - I'd have their eyes out. Sorry, but it's true.

If some people think it's "common" to wear certain clothing, then that's their opinion. My opinion however is that it is entirely unfair to make others (especially children)feel like second class citizens.

Oh and FWIW, I wear vest tops......but then, I have really toned, slender arms and great boobs

VirginonRidiculous · 30/07/2010 22:50

Respect to MILF Maylee
