DS has sleeveless basketball tops.

I never use the word 'common'.

AlaskaNebraska · 29/07/2010 13:28

Gelled top of hair with shaved patternz in the sides, an diamanté earring and a vest.

Good look ?

bytheMoonlight · 29/07/2010 13:30

yy to spikey hair.

Saw three brothers yesterday, ages between 3-7 roughly, all with mohicans, homemade by the state of them - yuk!

LetThereBeRock · 29/07/2010 13:30

Define 'common'.

I hate that word.

Eleison · 29/07/2010 13:30

Using the word 'common' is actually really common isn't it?

Yes, it is the basketball ones that DS2 likes -- lots of baggy ventilation space under the arm. They are really practical, and I wouldn't let snobbery, or the sunlight police, stop me buying them.

AlaskaNebraska · 29/07/2010 13:31

tasteless.

ChippingIn · 29/07/2010 13:31

Lovely on little girls, horrible on little boys (IMO)

Disclaimer: I don't mind the 'cut off sleeves look so much on little boys, but really, really don't like the 'vest' shaped ones. Actively didn't prevent my friends 4 year old splilling something down himself before we went out the other day so she'd change him He just looked like a right little thug in it and he isn't!!

AlaskaNebraska · 29/07/2010 13:31

"of the masses"

"proletarian"

So working class then?

ReasonableDoubt · 29/07/2010 13:43

Shaven hair, an earring, a vest top...Gosh, must mean he lives on a council estate!

Wilts · 29/07/2010 13:43

Fine on little girls but don't like them on boys.

MillyMollyMardy · 29/07/2010 13:46

I have to admit I was given loads of them for ds and have given them all to charidee. Whta I don't get is why I dislike them so much.

GypsyMoth · 29/07/2010 13:48

Actually, not so nice on girls either.

Neither are the long maxi skirts.....and thick belts. Yuk

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/07/2010 13:50

I knew this was you OP before I opened the thread

Hate boys in t shirts with 'little rascal' or some such shite.

Yes to gelled hair.

Also dislike boys with long pageboys circa 1974. A middle class trend in Cheltenham. Almost as abhorrent as spikey gelled hair.

EARRINGS (wins thread)

queenofthecapitalwasteland · 29/07/2010 13:51

Common

?noun Grammar .
a noun that may be preceded by an article or other limiting modifier and that denotes any or all of a class of entities and not an individual, as man, city, horse, music.

'not an individual'- sounds like chav to me

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/07/2010 13:52

And designer trainers on small boys.

WHY would you pay £40 or whatever for Nike shit when kids feet grow so fast.

Plus, trainers make your feet spread (fact).

queenofthecapitalwasteland · 29/07/2010 13:53

Urrghh I know what you mean GOML there is nothing worse than little boys with earrings, can't stand to see 2yo girls with earings.

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/07/2010 13:57

2 year old girls with earrings is a whole other thread

southeastastra · 29/07/2010 13:57

really couldn't give a shit

GetOrfMoiLand · 29/07/2010 13:57

I am glad I had a girl becauase on the whole boys clothes are vile.

There has got to be a middle ground between the ASBO in training look and Liz Hurley's son, isn't there?

FranSanDisco · 29/07/2010 13:58

Ds 7 yo drew himself a VW badge yesterday and attached treasury tags to it to make a medallion which he wore OUTSIDE. He's well common ain't he? And a little 80s (Run DMC). He isn't my son actually he was swapped at birth with a posh boy
