You must live in a posh place then MillyR

Broderie · 29/07/2010 17:03

Boden appliqued T-shirts are common round here

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:07

Ds has one boy in his class with an earing. I want an earing like x says ds. Ok then say I it will be mighty painful. Oh don't want to then. Job done.

But he does have Nike trainers.

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:08

Earring even

deaddei · 29/07/2010 17:10

Nike round our way is perceived as common among 13 year old girls.
I can't keep up with what's U and non-U.

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:10

these are ds's trainers. But his are blue where the red bits are.

MillyR · 29/07/2010 17:11

I think I might just live in a cold, wet place rather than a posh place.

deaddei · 29/07/2010 17:12

You would be laughed out of the area, if not lynched Fimbo.

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:13

Why?

Morloth · 29/07/2010 17:15

Fit right in here in Chelsea fimbo, do Debenhams stock real trainers for kids? I was thinking pegasus as DS has a dodgy foot and has said this week his feet/ankles are aching at tennis camp.

I wear pegasus but have always bought them in the US, have only seen "fashion" Nike around.

noddyholder · 29/07/2010 17:15

I bought ds a navy and white striped vest for holiday and he looks great in it with cut down levis and boat shoes.he is a lovely colour though and has a slim muscly physique and a mop of blonde hair which helps. On the local shaven headed yobs though they look terrible

ChippingIn · 29/07/2010 17:16

Nowt wrong with them Fimbo - not really sure what all the fuss is about.

southeastastra · 29/07/2010 17:17

this thread is mental - op only started it because she know it'll rile you.

I have no idea Fimbo.
Apparantly Nike is just so bleughh according to many girls of dd's age.
But then what do 13 year olds know???

I was happy with a pair of plimsolls when I was young.

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:19

I don't know if they have them in store tbh. Ds's are from the horror that is Sports Direct but we have had pairs previously from Decathlon. We have had cheapy white things from Tesco before, but one day out in them and they scuff like crazy. Only ever buy him Nike now and they last for ages. He plays tennis etc.

deaddei · 29/07/2010 17:20

Sports Direct is just wonderful for trainers, if you can get out asap.
I love Dunlop Green Flash plimsolls- very nostalgic.

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:21

Ah but then 13 year old girls are into plimsolls at the moment, especially the £2 jobbies from Primark.

Morloth · 29/07/2010 17:22

I can't go to Sports Direct, I went there once when I was pregnant and threw up because of the heat/smell!

deaddei · 29/07/2010 17:23

Yes, we have several pairs gracing our hall at the moment.
Morloth- did that actually get an assistant to help you??

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:23

Oh I loved Green Flash when I was young.

noddyholder · 29/07/2010 17:24

I love green flash

Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:24

Sportsworld/direct is on line.

Turniphead1 · 29/07/2010 17:25

love the fact that long floppy hairstyle negates chaviness of the vest top!!
I have to agree I wouldn't put my DS in one. (not least because his hair is rather short - the look we aim for is 50s school boy's sb&s, rather than council estate...would love him to have longish hair - but dead straight Irish hair does not look right, just bowl like).

My BiL wears them round the house, and every time I see him I think how oikish they look. Terrible, isn't it.

AlaskaNebraska · 29/07/2010 17:26

NOTHING NEGATES IT
