Fimbo · 29/07/2010 17:27

oikish is a fabulous word.

Morloth · 29/07/2010 17:27

Nope. I had to go to the checkout and tell them, they didn't seem very fussed/in a hurry to clean it up.

Think I will just order online.

deaddei · 29/07/2010 17:27

A tanned lean man in green flash, with white shorts.......

Hassled · 29/07/2010 17:27

Yes, football shirts with the names on the back are ghastly. DS2 has one. But the ghastliness is mitigated by his double-barrelled surname, I feel .

DS3 is currently wearing a hand me down Holland shirt with Van Nistelroy on the back. I suspect Van Nistelroy retired a long long time ago, thus making the shirt vintage. So that's OK then.

deaddei · 29/07/2010 17:29

That must have cost a lot Hassled!!!
Ds is only allowed 4 letters and a number on his (mean parent)

Morloth · 29/07/2010 17:29

Just a note I didn't expect the shop assistants to clean my vomit up, but the provision of a bucket or something would have been appreciated so I/DH could do so.

deaddei · 29/07/2010 17:30

I had better go and make tea

Turniphead1 · 29/07/2010 17:31

It's the synthetic nature of the football tops I don't like. Nearly passed out with ickiness trying to put on the matching nylon socks to DS's football strip (given by a relative I hasten to add). Now, were they made in a nice rick cotton I would be much more in favour.

Hassled · 29/07/2010 17:31

Sports Direct is indeed a hell hole.

Eleison · 29/07/2010 17:33

lol at double-barrelled name counteracting naffness of named football shirt.

Have put pic of my ds in sports vest on profile. I think he looks fine.

Bonsoir · 29/07/2010 17:35

Yes, very common indeed.

BollockBrain · 29/07/2010 17:41

yep. You can tell what the rest of the family look like, just by seeing a boy in a vest top.

Morloth · 29/07/2010 17:58

Bet you can't BollockBrain.

RunawayWife · 29/07/2010 18:13

Especially if the child is called Taylor / Tylor/

BollockBrain · 29/07/2010 18:48

oh yes i can,

Dad - 3/4 length sports trouser things with a white stripe down the side. socks and trainers, cut away vest top or no top, or top off but tucked into said 3/4 length jog/sports trousers. Very thick gold necklace. Shaven head. several ex-wives names tatooed across chest and also the obligatory topless woman in fishnet tights tattoo. Not looky likey he has ever done much sport judging by size of beer belly.

mum - tracky bottoms (goldigga written across backside) thong hanging out. vest top and lots of gold necklaces and a few sovreign rings on each finger.

siblings - as with first boy.

suitejudyblue · 29/07/2010 19:20

Ah now football shirts with names on, I can never decide which is worse - the name of an actual footballer or the name of the child.
I ban both just to be on the safe side.

CreepyFunbags · 29/07/2010 19:43

I hate middle class boy-hair.
I have no strong feelings regarding vests on boys.

usualsuspect · 29/07/2010 19:50

This is my cup of care ..oh look its empty

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 19:55

That is chav of 10 years ago Bollock brain - a passe stereotype if ever I heard one

Things have so moved on since then

Raffiiscool · 29/07/2010 19:56

Don't you lot have anything better to do!

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 19:57

MayorNaze · 29/07/2010 19:58

i hate hate hate these

ds love them

they have been known to "vanish" in the wash

and before you say "don't buy them" - i don't. "kind" people buy them for him

BollockBrain · 29/07/2010 19:58

well i have seen them ast the airport i camn tell you! Leopardskin and playboy suitcases to boot

YetAnotherIssue · 29/07/2010 19:58

What snobs. They are just little boys wearing vests, could you imagine if someone said the girls look like Whores! My 9 year old vest wearing lad is off to Eton in a few years and I know for a fact there is more snobbery on mumsnet than there is there!

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 19:59

Calm down dear
