noddyholder · 29/07/2010 20:00

My ds is soooooo not chavvy nor are his lovely skater friends

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 20:01

And for the record DS1 has a bright yellow one and looks awesome in it

YetAnotherIssue · 29/07/2010 20:02

Bollockbrain you talk bollocks. My son lives in them and we have an income nearing £400k pa. I live in linens and OH is of the red trouser brigade iykwim. Iydkwim then you've never mixed in the upper circles!

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 20:03

ROFL @ £400k

Infact at the entire post

YetAnotherIssue · 29/07/2010 20:04

If £400k is menial to you then I would ROFL at your income seeing as it's larger! But I do frequently ROFL at our income as it brings giddy joy!

BollockBrain · 29/07/2010 20:05

pmsl yetanother.

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 20:07

You are considerably richer than me

BollockBrain · 29/07/2010 20:08

Considerably richer than 'yow'

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 20:08

And your circles are considerably better than mine

YetAnotherIssue · 29/07/2010 20:11

No airs and graces me. Have shaved the boys hairs for the summer so it will be the perfect length for going back to school and after swimming the the river last night we dropped in at the carvery. Vest boy looked like a proper chav so we fitted in very well there. I love it when he spouts some latin whilst looking like (in Bollocksbrains opinions) he is about to stab you.

poshsinglemum · 29/07/2010 20:11

very snobby thread- and smug. dd has a vest and it's a bit naff but she loves it so i let her wear it.twas 20p from an nct sale.

LadyBlaBlah · 29/07/2010 20:11

Quite BB

whomovedmychocolate · 29/07/2010 20:11

I'm rather embarrassed to admit I buy DD them and then put a t-shirt underneath because I assumed that was how they were worn. Is layering not still in then?

On their own they just look slightly odd and underdressed IMHO

BollockBrain · 29/07/2010 20:12

Anyway YetAnother - who mentioned the income??? Me or you?

Did you know how vair vair common it is to discuss income??

You are letting yourself down dahling

YetAnotherIssue · 29/07/2010 20:14

I wasn't going to mention it but I had to put those sack cloth snobs in their place, ra, ra!

BollockBrain · 29/07/2010 20:16

Hmm, but you did, you see .

Not good. Your halo has slipped somewhat.

YetAnotherIssue · 29/07/2010 20:18

Never claimed to have a halo, not I.

Sins:

Eat at Toby Carvery
Eat at Harvester

Eat at Claridges

Boy wears vests
Boy has shaven head

Love walking in rivers
Don't shave legs enough

mumbar · 29/07/2010 20:31

oh dear ds has worn winter vests as t shirts as its been so hot - what must people think as we strole out of our HA flat

can understand why some find it common as everyone has different opinions on lots of things (learnt that from mn!) but to say ok for girls not for boys seems a little to me.

usualsuspect · 29/07/2010 20:33

My ds is so not chavvy either ..but this thread is fucking horrible ..oh must be because I live on a council estate ..

mumbar · 29/07/2010 20:39

Usualsuspect - i bet like me you never even considered that people may think your ds is chavvy ? (due to clthing+housing}

but now I'm concerned that I'm leaving him opening to bullying as other kids will think he is

god at his age I'd have been running around in pants and jelly beans

southeastastra · 29/07/2010 20:40

suspect have you fixed your msn yet?

usualsuspect · 29/07/2010 20:43

Hes 17 lol ..long hair, skinny jeans, band t shirts ... but hes council estate doncha know

usualsuspect · 29/07/2010 20:45

Yeah sea ..got my chavvy son to fix it

newpup · 29/07/2010 20:52

Hate vest tops on boys! Yuk. But on girls they can be lovely not sure why.

taffetacatski · 29/07/2010 21:01

Mad thread! We love vests here. Its a nightmare trying to get a vest top for 6yo DS. He hates clothes in general, so a vest is an achievement for us.

I generally buy the John Lewis ones designed as undergarments in dark colours - navy, black, grey etc. No logos/pictures. Although I did have some nice Captain Tortue ones a few years ago.

DS looks absolutely ravishing in them. I mean it. They really suit him as he is slim with broad shoulders. He has olive skin so I don't worry overly about burning.
