We are not “at war with Russia”.

MNHQ really need to get rid of some of the posts on this thread. There’s a huge difference between freedom of speech and spreading scare mongering information with no evidence on a thread where people are frightened.

Seriously! Are you actually serious?

We have been supplying Ukraine with billions and billions of pounds of military hardware to blow up the Russian army and weapons, what is your definition of neutral?

Are you in denial? Are you scared?

This is not breaking news.

We are, and have been in proxy war with Russia since the 24th of February 2022. Fact.

Zuno · 16/11/2022 09:04

Not in denial and not scared. I tend to stick to facts which over ride both of those accusations.

We have a long history of suppling weapons abroad - it’s a major income generator for the British economy.

Venetiaparties · 16/11/2022 09:06

Anyone who seriously can suggest that the West is not involved in the war in Ukraine needs to have a good look at what has happened in the last 9 months.

And understand the definition of proxy war:

Do you honestly think we should have sat back and done nothing whilst Russia carried out atrocities in Ukraine? The weapons and money we have provided (whether you want to frame it as a proxy war or not) have allowed Ukrainian forces to liberate their territory and free their people, who frankly have suffered enough.

Why not get rid of your posts instead? as i said its a forum, people scared have the choice not to open threads with war in the title? or hide/remove them?

..and no Ukraine isn't in NATO but NATO are helping to organise weapon supplies and Poland is...

We are supplying weapons/kit to kill and destroy Russian soldiers and kit, giving intel to do the same... we have unprecedented sanctions again Russia.. bolstered troops and kit into eastern europe...

Russia is holding the West to ransom on food and energy supplies, blew up a gas pipe and has threatened nuclear retaliation against the Europe.

what more do you want to call it a Pseudo War? its far beyond the post ww2 Cold War.

Zuno · 16/11/2022 09:08

Seriously you are just twisting stuff. Proxy war means that we instigated the war - that takes the blame off Russia - who are very much the only reason this war started.

We are not at War with Russia, proxy or bits

Your posts just continue to reflect your desire for the UK to be at war. I’m guessing you don’t have a partner or close relative in the military with these attitudes.

Well that caused a chuckle or two on a Wednesday morning. So the West and UK are simply boosting their income....righto!

So we now know we definitely can't trust your posts if you think the UK are simply filling their coffers and have no underlying wish to support and help Ukraine... did you think about that post before clicking the button?

Zuno · 16/11/2022 09:11

Where have I said we don’t support Ukraine?

if that was a British made missile, we had supplied to Ukraine would you be blaming the UK on it landing in Poland?

Zuno · 16/11/2022 09:12

And plenty of people on here agree with what I’ve been saying…

Ah so we are wasting billions by helping Ukraine, two guesses where you are posting from lovely!

From the UK, born here, no Russian in me.

Many people are tired of us getting involved in wars nothing to do with us (often declared, controlled or somehow caused by the US). Afghanistan, Iraq, bombing and drone campaigns over other parts of the Middle East against ISIS, and now this. Just leave the US to it. We literally get nothing back from the US for being their dogsbody. We have somehow spent far more than their immediate neighbours and large EU nations like Germany and France.

I, along with most of the UK 10000000000x support both the UK military support for Ukraine AND by definition the fight for Ukraine to remain independent and free, and if that means we are in a proxy war then so be it.

But we have to be honest about the risk too. I am willing to take that risk without question. We have to stop Russia.

Alexandra2001 · 16/11/2022 09:13

UK and everyone else is giving these weapons for free and rightly so, its not the same at all as selling Typhoons to Saudi.

No one wants a full on war with Russia but thats up to Russia, they can stop this war today... no one else can.

This is not "a war that has nothing to do with us"

This is our war. No one likes it or wants it, but we didn't start it

Just thank God we are fighting with our wallets, not our sons, and we stand to lose our right to turn the heating up, not our homes and communities

I was simply pointing out that we have been involved from the beginning - we were involved before the beginning of the war. The UK have been helping Ukraine for the past eight years or so. Had the West not stepped in to help Ukraine, Russia would have rampaged through it and moved straight onto other states. I have no regrets personally and support Ukraine wholeheartedly.

Of course this is our war. What the hell are you talking about?
Do you think Russia would have stopped at Ukraine had we not stepped in? How long before they arrived in Poland?

You are clearly deluded if you think this is not 'our' war - of course it is.

And I will add this is COSTING the Uk billions. We are not making any money from this, we are supplying everything to Ukraine for free, as we should.

I would move heave and earth to support them.

Zuno · 16/11/2022 09:27

It is not “our war”.

miceonabranch · 16/11/2022 09:33

Of course it's our war. Russia have been causing problems for and threatening the West for over 50 years now. They're a rogue state who have WMD. The Ukranians are very much trying to join the democratic West by breaking free from Russian influence and tyranny and we are helping them achieve that. We are helping fellow Europeans which is right and correct.

Venetiaparties · 16/11/2022 09:34

Zuno · 16/11/2022 09:27

It is not “our war”.

Well it is clearly not 'your' war.

Most Europeans support the Ukrainians and are happy to contribute to the defeat of Russia, most are also very aware of the risk to the rest of Europe if Russia is not stopped.

You clearly do not support the war to save Ukraine, you believe that the UK are making money selling weapons rather than supplying them for free to help Ukraine which is factually correct, and additionally you seem to think aliens or someone in a distant galaxy bombed a Nato country with a Russian missile yesterday Confused

I think we have run out of road with looking for consensus zuno and there are lots of actors on here with agendas. So I will take a hard pass on responding to you in the future.

Zuno · 16/11/2022 09:36
