well I've just read the entire thread (well up to NP's 10.53 post.

And I'm proud to announce that

I don't shave/wax/trim/pluck/whatever

my ladygarden
my legs
my armpits (well they do occasionally get a little trim if I'm wearing a sleeveless dress.

I had my legs waxed before my wedding..........tbh I'm not even sure why I bothered exH didn't even notice

I think she looks normal (well as normal as someone who has perfect non-saggy tits and a nice body can look)

Natural or not, I don't think I want this hanging on the dining room wall!

Aitch · 19/01/2009 11:28

i didn't want to shave my body hair until it became a marker of how 'adult' i was at school. like wearing a bra, shaving my legs was a mark of womanhood and burgeoning attractiveness to men.

i find the idea of shaving my fanny a bit distasteful, tbh, and it's not just the obvious porno/paedo element. i just cannot believe that it's more comfortable to have hair growing in than it is having the hair in the first place, and i do believe that subtle forces will have been brought to bear to convince someone that it's a preferable idea.

Winebeforepearls · 19/01/2009 11:30

what edam said way back on p1.

psychomum5 · 19/01/2009 11:38

I shave my pubes.......not completely but I do only have the 'triangle' now (probably TMI now given up about myself), but mine was more down to choice than any pressure from DH or outside forces..........DH has been with me since I was 16.....he has seen me in all 'states of undress'!

I do mine for personal choice and comfort......I find it cleaner for one thing, especially during my period, plus I suffer regularly from thrush for some reason, and I find it far easier to treat myself now with no hair.....cream is easier to apply at least.

I am certain tho at some point in the future I will just get tired of the 'upkeep' and let it all grow back again. It is my choice after all!

I will never try waxing again tho since a hidious experience last summer.......I tried in hope of being able to give up shaving.

lets just say that shaving does not make me bleed in the way waxing did.....and also.....I was advised to go in loose trousers as they are a bit 'cooler' on the fresh waxed skin than jeans or shorts (and my skirts were packed as we were about to go on hols)......well......my only loose trousers not packed were white linen ones.

SOOOO not a good look with bleeding waxed area.

as for the madonna image.......I think she looks beautiful. it is such a shame she doesn;t look as natural now.

well, yes, i do. but i acknowledge that the reason i wear make-up, get m hair cut into a style etc is to make myself appear more attractive. i just don't see how having a bald pubic area makes someone more attractive.

I never used to trim down there so that couuld have been me a few years ago.

After some complaints from bfs, it's now a lot smaller but the regrowth thing is really annoying. I do miss the ole shrubbery at times though .

Aitch · 19/01/2009 12:21

because you are being influenced by a pretty corrupted culture, tbh, at this stage in history, whether you can acknowledge that or not. just like bottle blondes will probably be dyeing their hair because at some level they believe that they will have more fun.

CatIsSleepy · 19/01/2009 12:37

am ROFLing at the Rolf comment

but aah she looks gorgeous
hoorah for a proper luxuriant ladygarden!

kittywise · 19/01/2009 12:43

I think it's really sad that women do this to each other. Why the hell should you have to shave your hair off?

lou33 · 19/01/2009 12:49

i think she must have listened judging by these pics

traceybath · 19/01/2009 12:55

I'm a regular waxer but normally of the tidy up rather than everything off variety.

However my very very clever (manipulative) beautician told me that only her 'older ladies' had tidy ups and most of her clients had brazilians.

So foolish me had the brazilian (which costs 2.5x as much). Although it was good for holiday as no worries on bikini front and i liked the 'clean' feel i'm afraid that 30something ladybits need a little coverage in my opinion.

elsiepiddock · 19/01/2009 12:58

Ewwww! Well I think it's vile. Much as I would find a big bushy beard on a man's face repulsive.

I would probably be just as hairy as Madge, but have the whole lot waxed off once a month.

FruitynNutty · 19/01/2009 13:01

Is that really a lot?
It's not that shocking to me
Or are you all little school girls who haven;t yet hit puberty?

lou33 · 19/01/2009 13:06

i think it looks more than it is because of the way she is positioned

petrovia · 19/01/2009 13:18

Do you get your hair cut? No...

Or trim your nails? Yes, for practicality and comfort, which is the only reason I'd consider shaving my nether regions

Or pluck your eyebrows? No

Or dye your hair? No

Or wear makeup? A bit of blusher now and again, to cheer myself up.

Or anything else that makes you look anything other than how nature intended? Erm - no.

Soz...

kittywise · 19/01/2009 13:28

I can undrerstand wanting to use make up etc ( I don't though) but you're nethers are hardly on display to the general publc, unless you're mental of course.

So there is no point in shaving them.

nailpolish · 19/01/2009 13:30

thats a load of rubbish

its like saying you dont give a shit what you look like front of your dh

georgiemum · 19/01/2009 13:30

nailpolish · 19/01/2009 13:30

CatIsSleepy · 19/01/2009 13:32

isn't it possible to give a shit what you look like in front of your dh without having to shave your pubes off though?
