she looks lovely and totally normal, she's italian and it was 1979 FFS before everything became plasticised.

the fact that brazilians/hollywoods have become normalised and what is essentially natural has been branded as gross and disgusting by men and women alike is fairly pitiful IMO. Will those of you who think thi is so, be saying this to your dds and dragging them off for their 1st Brazilian so they aren't seen as "disgusting" ?

Hopefully by the time my dd is older this viewpoint will have shifted, makes me quite

Mind you I find it pretty tired that almost every video/publicity shot/ad campaign that features madonna she has her legs akimbo with her fanny thrusting forward PLEASE STOP IT NOW, we have seen it!

'falling over in a skirt' scenario is bizarre

I work in the NHS and if I ever overheard a memebr of staff mocking a womans topiary I'd report them, if it's common place then it's a pretty sad reflection of how the standard of nursing has slipped IMO ( and I am a nurse)

edam · 18/01/2009 22:56

That's reassuring, minx, but I can believe it might happen - when I was in hospital while p/g with ds, a junior doctor examined my bump and announced, in horrified tones: 'Did you not use stretchmark cream?'. Stupid mare. I was astonished that a doctor didn't know that stretchmark creams don't bloody well eliminate stretchmarks!

Absolutely each to their own, its the mocking of hairy muffs I don't like, its normal!

edam · 18/01/2009 23:02

No, I was too taken aback! FFS, I was the glossy mag editor, she was the doctor, yet I knew more about the human body than her and was less hung up on achieving airbrushed perfection.

Anyway, I was feeling secure enough just to pity the poor girl and think 'she'll learn'...

Marthasmama · 18/01/2009 23:04

It's a good Italian bush. I have Italian blood and do not prune. My DH loves a bit of fluff and wouldn't have it any other way! Oh actually, I do trim for swimming, but then having Salvador Dali peeping out of your pants is not a good look.

Molesworth · 18/01/2009 23:09

Apologies tum, I think I am guilty of taking your post the wrong way

I agree with your (and sophable's) point that women are often the most vociferous critics of other women. The whole topic makes my blood boil because I resent the way that we are pitched against one another on these sorts of issues.

I'm a bit surprised at the reactions to this. I think it looks fine - it's what we are meant to look like albeit to varying degrees.

moondog · 18/01/2009 23:21

lmao at 'ladyfield' 'ladygarden' and 'Rolf Harris'

Heathcliffscathy · 18/01/2009 23:22

ladies, i've just paid £25 for the christies catalogue which has some fabulous helmut newtons and great great shots of marilyn monroe as well as this one of madonna.

bargain!

thanks for the tip

Heathcliffscathy · 18/01/2009 23:22

don't feel bad molesworth, you have a good point, but in the end none of us (men or women) are really free.

well, very few of us are.

HuwEdwards · 18/01/2009 23:31

I take on all the comments that it's natural but the 'giving birth to Rolf Harris' comment was priceless

Heathcliffscathy · 18/01/2009 23:36

i have to admit it raised a giggle here huw

NormaJeanBaker · 18/01/2009 23:37

I'm in line with Edam.

Tinker · 18/01/2009 23:59

morningpaper · 19/01/2009 08:35
