Random things that you realise, realtively late in life, you just dont like?

Fairly recently, Ive realised I dont like these things:

Live albums/song recordings. No matter how much I love the band or song.
Watching dance…especially in a musical
Songs named after women…even I can’t explain that one!
Meals where every mouthful is the same…e.g. pizza

I wouldnt have said these things a year ago I dont think , so it proves TIPU am still getting to know myself in my late 50’s!

Anyone else had a similar epiphany?

I also hate live music! 🫣😬

We went to an 80th birthday party recently. It was an afternoon party. We dont see lots of the people more than once a year so it was brilliant to sit and chat and catch up. Then a singer started. He wasn't bad but he was sooo massively loud it killed the mood. You couldn't chat anymore because the sound was deafening. I married into the family so its not my place to go up and ask him to turn it down

Any TV programme with "celebrites" in it
Especially comedians who roar with laughter at each other jokes cos no-ne else does as they are just not funny..

Especially when I don't know who the celebrities are.

Socialising

Second this!

I used to love mooching around shops… now I just can’t be bothered! They never have my size anyway.

Also going on holiday - especially if I have to fly there. The rest of my family like both so I have to put up with it!

Halloween
Christmas
Valentines
Pretty much all occasion days that are forced and have expectations around them
Capitalism, all our lives we are surrounded by ads. Even when we think we are immune we are not. Brands seeking profit by making us feel inadequate so we will buy their product, using techniques recommended by psychologists to subtly target insecurities and then have us constantly exposed to this. I would love a social experiment of a whole month without any exposure to ads of any kind. I'm sure people's well being and MH would recover drastically.

Heels.

Live music, especially at 100 quid plus per ticket.

Nights out that start later than 7pm.

Banjas · Today 16:23

Live music events.
So many drunk people.
I hate it.

Im another one! I had to stop watching the Call the Midwife as they were shoehorning in modern values on racism, birth out of wedlock etc as a teaching moment. A bit jarring.

AND the jane austen sister (?) programme. Way too much “girl power” going on. Irksome.

EDIT I used to love a period drama.

Edited

All the midwives in that show are so kind, tolerant and supportive, where are all the hard faced judgemental bitches yelling at single mums, shouting at women that they are making too much fuss about the pain and naking mistakes about labour and delivery because they of course know best and never llsten to women. I had an "old shool" midwife and she was bloody vile, and i know plenty of women who have had horrible childbirth experiences due to unking and uncaring staff. Maybe they could run a story about a horrible midwife being shown the error of her ways by all the other wonderful ones, at least it would reflect something of real life.
