Hi im posting here due to concerns about a local path way i live near.its a lovely community we have local dog walkers go down the path just a lovely little place for a walk.however we have some lovely cats who have pitched up home there to lol.now there was this one lady walking her dog i was on the bench down the path with 2 of the local cats the lady took the dog of the lead as if she was intitsing it to go for the cats .as i walked back then to leave the path she then does it again and winds tje cats up saying doggy on the lose cats watch out .the cats ran off in fear of this dog being let off the lead now this womans response to all this was"i have to do this or she wll have my arm off and pull me"well im sorry but if the dog can cause that much injury to you what the hell could it do to the poor cats.am i right in wanting to report this to my local council?

No it isn’t normal and I would report her.
I would also knock on the doors of the cat owners and tell them exactly what she did.
I would also put something on Facebook to warm others and shame her.

I did this soon as i got in as i have one of the owners of the cats on fb and i also put it up on the local cummunity thread

Good for you.
You're in the right and I can't understand why you're getting so many horrible and obtuse responses.

Cats can be trained to stay inside.

With difficulty.
They prefer to go out.

I'm not sure why some posters are being so fucking snarky.

@Flowercandy You are right. She should absolutely not take her dog off the lead and encourage it to chase cats. If the lazy bumblefuck cannot handle her dog, she should try training it properly.

Well said on all points.

Yes just alone saying she has to let him of the lead or he will have her arm off says it all.so to protect her arm she inflicts the danger of her on to the cats.

It's selfish and cruel. I'm really glad you spoke up and did something.

Arrrrrr maybe its normal then and google is talking rubbish
Do u al collect the cats to when they get them and injure them?

You're not really making much sense.

Yes, dogs will often chase cats, and other dogs, and rabbits, mice, birds, squirrels etc. Cats in particular are usually very capable of looking after themselves around dogs and getting out of the way if necessary. They are mostly very capable of taking control of the situation should they need to.

Hell, I've even seen some cats that can and do chase dogs. My mother had a Siamese Tomcat many years ago who was known to sometimes chase a local German Shepherd down the path behind the house we lived in at the time. The dog was scared of him.

I used to have a cat. I also simultaneously had two dogs, a labrador and a cocker spaniel. Guess who was in general overall control? Clue - it wasn't the dogs.

How on earth can you report her? Do you know her name or where she lives? She’d just some random woman on a walk

Flowercandy · 15/10/2026 21:21

Im bascially saying do you all agree that a lady lets her dog off the lead purely to attack and chase cats .and the reason for her doing this is because apparently her dog will pull her arm put her socket so she said.

She’s doing it because she’s a cunt.

Edited

This is about dog owners intising there dogs to chase and potentially hurt cats and peoples pets which is against the law.

OP posts:
MozzieFreeZone · 15/10/2026 23:12

It should probably also be against the law for cats to be allowed to roam loose shitting wherever they like and killing wild birds which are edging towards extinction.

Once again this owner is basically telling the dog to do it.we cant stop what we cant control but she can stop and control her dog by leaving him on the lead!

OP posts:
Flowercandy · 15/10/2026 23:18

And if she cant then she shouldnt be handling a dog in public.

A week ago I looked out of my bedroom to see my large cat trying to attack two dogs on a leads walked by an old guy. I ran down to pick him up and brought him in. Animals are attacked in nature, but I agree op, no human should do this. I would report her.
Some cats are sociable, especially if they have lived in a colony. Mine had been in an outdoor group, so tolerates others. Saw him sat in a group of three, as if they were having a meeting. It made me think of Macbeth ‘When shall we three meet again…….’
