Beware! Leeds is s***hole

I lived up north and down south and Leeds is a place where people:

  1. offers you poorer service than anywhere else at a higher premium, worst value for money
  2. are lacking of moral values and self respect and gives you the impression that they are b** raised
  3. don't contribute to safer society, simply hopeless

For those who enjoys "back-to-back" properties or Leeds, hope you enjoy the depreciating property price and this city's decaying future. Otherwise I'd hope you'd avoid this s*hole!

I reckon they got dumped by their mates on the Otley run!

😂

This has probably been written by AI bots trying to stir up discontent. Ignore.

I love Leeds, I only live 15 miles away but DD went there for University and bought her first house in Gledhow.

I wouldn’t want to live in Harehills but there’s loads of great areas and it’s an amazing city. I think the OP was probably out yesterday afternoon and lost her purse on Greek Street which has affected her mood.

Bit of a weird post. Leeds is a lovely city. Countryside 15 minutes away. Lots of restaurants. Back to back was my first house. but there are other types available

lived in lots of cities and found Leeds to be very friendly

Yes I find the same. Even as a Mancunian! Leeds is great.

BitOutOfPractice · 12/10/2026 08:41

Oh gosh, what a surprise. The OP hasn’t been back!

Purplecatshopaholic · 12/10/2026 08:42

Poor Leeds. And yes, what is b** raised…? lol

BitOutOfPractice · 12/10/2026 08:42

I have to say though that I love the title. Beware! It’s like Leeds might jump out at you from behind a tree in suburban Surrey.

If you want a shithole, try Bradford, sounds like you’d love it!

Bradford has had a lot of investment recently. The area by the Interchange is much nicer now. Bradford's Waterstones is the loveliest Waterstones in the country! Leeds' Waterstones is good too - massive!

Tharealkate · 12/10/2026 08:46

Wth Lol 😂

It’s gorgeous! I did an event there for Bradford literature festival

CaptainMyCaptain · 12/10/2026 08:51

No further comment from the OP. Surprise, surprise, probably sleeping off her hangover. I don't know the city particularly well but know people who live in and around the area who seem happy with it.

Ah, that Sunday afternoon drinking. Hope its a WFH day for the OP today.

Interesting goady thread from an OP who never returned. Leeds has had pretty much all of the funding in Yorkshire over the past 20 years. Sheffield had a bit and York has always been fancy but the rest of Yorkshire has been left to burn.

Bananalanacake · 12/10/2026 09:23

Is it the closure of Harvey Nichols that has upset you?

As a Leodian who lives in leafy Surrey this made me laugh. Maybe I should be jumping out at people more yelling ‘EY UP’. Maybe I should have a ferret accomplice.

BEWARE!

Bit dramatic I’m sure Harrogate is doing just fine…

FourFruitSalads · 12/10/2026 09:30

People in Leeds usually say 'in' btw. We're not all northern caricatures

Born in Leeds. Why do people trying to take the piss out of my accent put glottal stops in all the wrong places? Of course, I correct them. Philistines.

Sgtmajormummy · 12/10/2026 09:39

Born in Leeds, too, if you care to read my comment above.
Thanks for the “Philistine” comment btw.

Can I ask what makes you believe that?

Your belief is that Leeds is a shithole?

What makes you believe that?

MenopauseSucks · 12/10/2026 09:54

Ok… I’m going in people… watch my back….

Why do you hate Leeds so much?
Did you have a bad experience there?
Unless you actually explain what has led to such a loathing of Leeds, we’re not going to know what on earth you’re talking about.

And no, I’ve never been to Leeds but I’m now intrigued after the OP’s vitriol & the rest of the thread.

Paganpentacle · 12/10/2026 10:09

Theres far far more to Leeds than back to back terraces.
Probably best you stay down south with attitude.

This happened with the Birmingham thread too.

FabulousWealthyTart · 12/10/2026 10:47

Bloody hell, Kirsty Alsopp's having a bad day.

Cuiriossir · 12/10/2026 10:48

I doubt that this comes as much of a surprise to anyone.
