A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙☕️

We're gearing up for the Burnham budget. 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It seems that Labour won’t support Shabana. I thought she was going to shoot Labour’s fox, but perhaps not.

Labour is betraying voters over the Boriswave

Haha yes there are a few.

On this Brexit stuff it’s a pretty serious accusation.

In the HoC, not a podcast, ie where he can’t lie he said this

The Prime Minister eventually replied: “It was legitimate. I have always respected the result, I have never questioned its legitimacy. But I am within my rights to point out where foreign actors are looking to interfere in British democracy.”

He needs to be straight up with an accusation or not. The meddling fool.

Yes, meddling and back-peddling…

So after Burnham shot from the hip (again) telling TRIP that Russia interfered with the Brexit referendum, No.10 have been forced to concede that the result was legitimate.

Therefore there is no evidence that any interference by Russia actually changed the result. Why does Burnham keep doing this? He shoots his mouth off for likes, and then others have to clear up the mess. I almost felt a bit sorry for the minister doing the media round this morning.

Trump does the same so you maybe the latest political tactic or they are both just idiots that are used to people falling over what they say. However now on the world stage where everything is scrutinised this tactic doesn't work.

Yes I thought it was quite Trumpian actually. It reminds me of Trump's claims of a 'rigged' election in 2020. Burnham has just done similar.

A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is still putting it's boots on.

It really can. What a thing to lie about. If he can’t back it up in the HoC he should formally retract it.

Nah, he won't retract it. It was deliberate. Judging by the number of clapping seals, it worked too.

I know what you mean though. He will get himself into trouble if he carries on with the same MO in the HoC. He's used to spouting shite for clicks and getting away with it. He's spent very little time at the despatch box so far and it hasn't gone well.

Dinnerontheterrace · 12/10/2026 20:55

I think the Conservatives and Reform should ignore the Brexit bait. Let Labour wear themselves out with tilting at windmills. I don’t think the electorate will go for it when they understand the cost and disruption. The Tories and Reform can use their energy on more fruitful things while Labour waste their time and energy on a dead end.

Thanks for this. Well said Jenni.

It seems Rayner is now calling the shots. She's making a fool out of Mahmood at every opportunity.

Yep he can pretty much say what whatever on a podcast, if he has to update the house it needs to not be a lie.

@DinnerontheterraceI agree, let him spin out on Brexit. The EU is looking messy in its own way.

Burnham looked v uncomfortable when an MP asked him about his dealings with the UAE.

Another occasion where he spouted off without weighing up the consequences first. There's a pattern emerging.

Sadly it doesn't matter how messy the EU looks some people only care about the air port queues.
