A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙☕️

We're gearing up for the Burnham budget. 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Maybe we should have a little gamble on an election. I think I’m slightly erring towards him going for it. Maybe in Spring next year.

I’m going for not intending to atm but French election might cause some issues for them.

@Electra10E ”£100 bung to poor people.”

I don’t think of myself as poor…. Maybe I should 😂

A ‘poor’ choice of words, granted.

GiaGia16 · 29/10/2026 12:40

But I thought Healy vowed to bring the bill down by the next election?

Hence my ‘stupid’ comment.

Burnham and Healey have committed to cutting welfare in 2030 i.e. a year after they lose the next GE (I still think they will call it early).

Perhaps they think we are stupid.

CandidLurker · 29/10/2026 17:01

I saw the pie maker business owner. Very good summary of how extra costs are being piled on his business. There will be no small businesses a
surviving at this rate. And the rather clueless presenter seeming to suggest he could employ all under 21’s to get round the wage problem. What and sack all his existing staff?!

BooHissScarySeason · 29/10/2026 17:07

He was good wasn’t he / my prices have nearly doubled - I look at the pies and think they’re dear.

EasternStandard · 29/10/2026 17:19

Geez at that Healey pint drinking video. I had to click off it was a bit eugh

He evidently thinks he played a blinder of a budget…

When he was necking that pint, I had an unhelpful image of Rayner scoffing at a drinking lightweight…

PoppyPomegranate · 29/10/2026 18:28

Long standing tradition that chancellors could take a drink into the Chamber to deliver their budget speeches. I remember Ken Clarke taking a single malt in to deliver his budget in the nineties. Showing my age there!

Maybe the chancellor should go back to drinking during the speech - it might improve things!

Is it just me that thinks this sounds like a human trafficking loophole?

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 30/10/2026 00:31

I’m getting the feeling that Burnham’s election plan is unraveling. He wanted a ‘solid’ budget that the markets (which he’s not in hock to 🙄) would look on as a sign of prudence. Then he’d try a snap election. (His aim is to separate himself from the spectre of Starmer’s personality, not from Starmer’s manifesto.)

But the reaction is one of scepticism. Financial analysts are viewing it as at best a lost opportunity to slow the slide into catastrophic debt. It was a poor, feeble budget, economically and politically. Burnham will struggle to convince anyone that he’s worth backing.

redange · 30/10/2026 00:42

I have been around politics and politicians since University and 20 years of age. It never occurred to me (I must have been naive) that any politician deliberately damaged the United Kingdom for their own interest ! I believed that it was down to ignorance and a genuine belief, that their way was the right way. This, government and almost everyone within the current Labour Party has completely destroyed my belief, that "incompetent" Government was not an stated aim ! This, government and all the Labour Parties aim must be to turn us in to a third World dependent culture ! There, is no other cognitive reason for what they are doing..

redange · 30/10/2026 00:44

Sorry Labour Party's not Parties ?

The other self congratulation IG offered up was Burnham buffed up about the £100 site checker crashing. I can’t believe people like his SM love me stuff.

I agree with you, it does seem labour are intentionally trying to destroy the country.

I'm convinced they're deliberately trolling us too. Some examples are:
-accusing anyone who is against mass immigration as being far right and anti British;
-making flying the England flag practically a hate crime (shabana mahmood referred to those flying it in her area as 'bad people');
-knocking 4 pence off a jar of gherkins in a cost of living crisis;
-giving billions of taxpayers money away in foreign aid when we're trillions in debt;
-opening up more legal routes for asylum seekers from Muslim countries despite many British people wanting far less immigration;

  • encouraging illegal immigrants to come here with all the perks they provide;
  • seemingly prioritising immigrants when it comes to housing, healthcare etc;

-prioritising welfare spending over defence spending whilst at the sane time warmongering with Russia and warning us of possible war in 1000 days. The list goes on.

So many people feel they're destroying this country - you only have to look on X/Facebook

My questions are: why are they intent on destroying the country? What do they have to gain from it? Why are they being allowed to do it? Why are they so popular?

KathleenDarleenDayKnight · 30/10/2026 12:03

This new immigrant charity scheme is initially targeting the following war-torn countries; Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Egypt, Uganda, Kenya.

Labour have always been destructive for the country. It's why reason why entrepeneurs groan whenever this government is in.

I looked at this and apparently they’re targeting those countries because they’re hosting a lot of refugees and can’t cope.

I don’t know who thinks we can cope….

I always try to look with these types of clickbaiting things at what they’re trying to take attention off. Maybe just their general incompetence and unsuitability to run the country?

Pakistan coped fine with the Afghani refugees by booting several million of them back over the border. Are they to be sent here instead then?
