A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙☕️

We're gearing up for the Burnham budget. 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

If anyone is on Twitter/X check this out

The government is telling us we will get an extra hour and asking us how we plan to spend it. The replies do not disappoint

I know any government doing this sort of nonsense on X would get slated in the comments, but that is funny.

What on earth possessed them to put out such a fuck-witted childish post?

I can only read the top three but they made me laugh out loud. How funny.

Most of the replies are attacking the government in familiar terms, and comically so. But a few get at what seems to me to be the bigger question: why has government become so infantile in the way it speaks to people?

It’s like we’re talked to by HMG now run like a cross between Newsround and Listen With Mother.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/10/2026 22:41

I guess they think people appreciate the cutesy social media approach.

Andrew Neil blows apart zelot net zeros cost to us all /daily mail.

It's a crime against us all.

I'm all for transitioning but sensibly.

This is not sensible.

EasternStandard · 21/10/2026 07:21

Borrowing figures out. £6bn more than expected. Inflation up.

KatiePricesKnickers · 21/10/2026 07:30

Jackdaw is a go!

LupaMoonhowl · 21/10/2026 08:48

Just saw that in Italy they have sent in water cannons in Bologna so at least those priceless historical buildings haven’t yet been destroyed by the despicable mob.

I haven't read his piece in the DM but I like listening to him on net zero. Agree with you that what we're doing isn't sensible.

Jackdraw being approved was pretty inevitable once Miliband was out of the picture. It is win win for everyone apart from Ed.

Have we had low inflation at all since Labour took office? They are so bad.
Public debt has also exceeded £3 trillion for the first time!

Good day to announce Jackdaw eh.

Good news on Jackdaw. Better late than never. Of course they had to wait until after the by election because votes are more important than keeping the lights on.

Its frustrating that they have faffed and dithered on this when they could have been extracting gas for months ready for the upcoming winter.

It will only supply 3% of our gas needs and Rose bank if operational will be sold on international markets. But they're going to need the income for net zero.

Someone said millipede wife is involved in net zero. Is that true?

I don't know sorry. I tend to leave spouses alone but I wouldn't be surprised if its true.

I wonder if there will be trouble in London this weekend

Labour isn't Working - Thread 42
Nuthatch26 · 21/10/2026 09:19

Senior Labour MPs asked planted questions in Parliament after being lobbied by a former MI6 officer, The Telegraph can disclose.
The MPs included Liam Byrne and Anneliese Dodds, both former ministers, and Sir Chris Bryant, a Cabinet minister. They spoke in the Commons after being lobbied by Christopher Steele, the former spy behind the infamous Trump-Russia dossier.
They made claims about individuals conducting espionage, having secret ties to Russian spy agencies and having illicit financial dealings. Several of the allegations were later found to be inaccurate.

Ugh, Anneliese Dodds, cannot stand her.

I keep hearing about the Troubles bill on the radio. It sounds really bad. So many pointing out how bad it is. For some reason noise on buses is more important than how the services feel about the legislation.

Its no surprise that Iran have a big influence in far-left groups. Useful idiots.

I see two men have been re-arrested over the Fairford incident too. One is a dual national.

The regime there had vast experience in using them.

This is how they came to power, after all.

Yes there are some harrowing stories on this. I was hoping for some changes now that Starmer and his mate Hermer are gone.

Exactly. Now we allow them to use the UK like a holiday home.
