A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙☕️

We're gearing up for the Burnham budget. 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

NewsCord's campaign against Baron Cohen was launched about a month after it received an investment from the used car salesman and media financier Cecil Hetherington in Ireland—a hotbed of anti-Israel sentiment—through his Ulidia Investments Limited, financial disclosures reviewed by the Free Beacon show. Hetherington's firm assumed a 20 percent stake in NewsCord stock around the same time one of his other beneficiaries, the fiercely anti-Israel publication Canary Media, was touting efforts to cancel Ali G and describing Baron Cohen as a "tired-looking Zionist" flogging a racist movie. Hetherington owns 20-50 percent of Canary.

So it looks like the cretin Cecil Hetherington's plan to cancel Sacha Baron Cohen hasn't been that successful even though he has been hassled a lot. However Canary Media is well and truly cancelled

Worth a read.

I suppose the upside in paying people so much in benefits is that people here won't be arsed to put their xbox controllers down to protest anything.

Burnham seems to back on a strategy of announcing trival policies to distract from next weeks budget shit show. Yesterday the dickhead tax for people who play music on the train without headphones (which to be fair I'm all in favour of - give them a £10,000 fine each time), and today announcing that he will give people a 5 minute grace period to when parking.

Safe in the knowledge that nothing is enforced any more anyway.

From the BBC News site today:
'The man accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe had a "particular hostility to Reform", prosecutors alleged on Friday.

They said Joshua Kerry, 28, "had an extreme left wing and/or anti-establishment mindset".

The prosecution also told the Old Bailey Widdecombe's murder had a "terrorist connection" as it was "politically and ideologically motivated"."

I’m not surprised given the rhetoric on SM, in the media and from other politicians. What do they expect will happen. Of course it’ll lead to this.

I noticed this tendency too, I hadn’t thought about the budget.

It’s such bollocks. He’s like a political version of one of those old teleshopping ads that flogged things like plastic kitchen gadgets for making your tomatoes into fancy shapes. It’s cheap crap, doesn’t work and is forgotten about after a week, then binned when you have a clear out.

It's strange that no mainstream media seem to be asking, if this man was allegedly "particularly hostile to Reform" and "had an extreme left wing and/or anti-establishment mindset", why Rosie Duffield was reported to be on his hit list?

It seems nobody wants to dig into the rabbit hole that may be his alliance with TRAs (or maybe they are but nobody is reporting it/the police aren't discussing it/I'm just seeing things).

I was going to make that exact point but MN has already taken down a thread on a similar theme because the case is ongoing.

Yep, he's behaving like the mayor of GB. All the serious issues that need to be dealt with are being kicked into the long grass so he can survive the first budget. Man̈ana prime minister.

See also, as far back as Jan 2020, "Why bother with [throwing] a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?" from a celebrity and one-time member of a caring profession. The broadcaster [BBC] dismissed claims from Nigel Farage that [speaker] was inciting violence.
