A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙☕️

We're gearing up for the Burnham budget. 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I suppose there’ll be the usual they’re French they riot and burn things threads. Sad to see though. Plus it’ll cost more and they’re out of money. The debt is too high already.

CandidLurker · 17/10/2026 20:42

Very sad to see the destruction and looting that has clearly gone on in Lyon. I went there quite often when I was a student. Stating the obvious but this has gone far beyond the original student protests. The change that was sought is not going to come this violence.

QuiteUnbelievable · 17/10/2026 21:00

Sapphire this sounds interesting re you and politicians !

I am aghast at the mindless destruction in France ! How can they afford it ?
Why don't they bring the army in ?
The poor people who live there and visitors and everyone.
It's terrifying I've just seen police cars and vans destroyed in place de la republique

They've burned down the town hall in Limoges. I love Limoges, it's gutting, and for what? Why are they letting this happen?

Also why are there so many Palestinian flags at these protests? I suppose it must be the globalised intifada?

The videos show a lot of damage. To Celine, other high end shops, art galleries, bus stops. It will all cost so much to restore.

KathleenDarleenDayKnight · 17/10/2026 21:52

The town hall at Limoges is also a tragedy to social history. Every birth, marriage and death for 180 years, documents gone.

It's sickening.

The shock therapy France evidently needs, we could do with in the UK.

Spoilt, entitled toe rags.

38thparallel · 17/10/2026 22:00

Why are they letting this happen?

I wondered that. Maybe Macron supports the riots.

What, these poor frustrated scholars?

In Italy too? I think they’re in a mess of debt generally. Best to stay out.

CandidLurker · 17/10/2026 22:05

How hard do the police hit back when it’s largely minors doing the damage. I think that’s part of the problem they are facing.

justasking111 · 17/10/2026 22:08

One comment made tonight by the awful things that are happening in Europe says it all for me.

"They're stealing beauty"

As hard as they otherwise would, at this point, would be my preference.

I hope the far left in France is finished, after this.

QuiteUnbelievable · 17/10/2026 22:12

It's rumoured he can trigger an article and stay in power because of the riots. There are videos of people being gassed on the tubes

Message from France

To every American, and to everyone watching France burn from abroad:

Do not blame the French people for this.

We never asked for it. We never voted for it. And the one time we were clearly asked, we said no.

Here are the numbers your media won't show you.

70% of the French say there are too many immigrants in France today.
79% want a tougher immigration policy.
77% disapprove of the government's record on immigration.
83% want foreign criminals and long-term unemployed foreigners sent home.
And no, it's not just the old. 69% of French 18 to 24 year olds support suspending legal immigration for three years.
This is not a fringe. This is the French people.
In 2005, we were asked if we wanted the European Constitution. 55% voted no. Three years later, our politicians passed the same text under another name, through parliament, without ever asking us again.

That is modern France in one sentence. The people say no. The elites do it anyway.

So who is responsible? The politicians who lied to us. A class of leaders formed in the same schools, the same forums, the same networks, loyal to each other before they are loyal to their nations.

In 2017, at Harvard, Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, bragged about his Young Global Leaders program in four words: "We penetrate the cabinets." He added that it was true in France. Emmanuel Macron was one of his Young Global Leaders.

It's the same project in Brussels with Ursula von der Leyen and in Paris with Macron. Borders treated as an obstacle. Nations treated as relics. The people treated as a problem to be managed.

What you are watching in France is not the French people failing. It is the end of the globalist project, an abject, quasi-communist dream of a world run by unelected planners. It is collapsing everywhere in Europe at once, and the West has to cut this cancer out before it takes the rest of the body with it.

The peoples of Europe don't want this. They never did.

So when you see our town halls burning, don't say "the French chose this."

The French never chose this.

They were forced into it.

If you're French and you agree, repost this so the world hears it from us.

If you're American, look at us carefully. Then choose differently on November 3rd. x.com/MisterKraKra/s…

KathleenDarleenDayKnight · 17/10/2026 22:20

It's just looting and vandalism at this point. France, Belgium, Italy.
I'm genuinely so upset, we spend a lot of time in France and it's such a stunningly beautiful place with such incredible history.
There's no excuse for this. None. There are hundreds of countries globally where the majority of people experience genuine poverty and genuine struggles to receive an education. France is not one of them.

Electra10E · 17/10/2026 22:23

If you want to see the inexorable rise of the right in Europe, this is it, right here.

The Left have brought this upon themselves.
