You know the ones. You see their username and think, excellent, they’re here.

Who are your Mumsnet favourites? No smooching required, just appreciation. 😏

I miss Eckhart, always gave sensible, sensitive responses which resonated a lot with me

JuniperKeats · 03/10/2026 18:01

Me!!!
might mean I’m dead…..

LouiseMadetheBestBroccoliPasta · 03/10/2026 18:07

Agree that AttilaTheMeercat, WearyAuldWoman, and OuterSpacePotato are great. Also OtterlyAstounding.

Chucklebunnie · 03/10/2026 18:48

Someone has probably already mentioned her, CatThiefKeith sadly died

Kitten, very knowledgeable on weather. Wearyauldwoman very wise. Terry Pratchett a great all rounder. Mairias runs an excellent royals thread. Nuthatch an even handed poster.

There's some great posters when I've had issues with pets as well. I lurk in the sewing circles being a very basic sewer. TV addicts crowd are friendly.

It really depends where you go fishing.

I got my beloved cat Hugo from a poster on mumsnet. The thread was called something like ‘how can I re home my cat’ and as you can imagine she got a lot of hate. I said I’d take him and the thread turned into horror stories about what happens to cats given to strangers on the internet.
Anyhoo, 6 years later, I love Hugo, he’s very happy and B is my favourite mumsnetter for unconventional reasons ❤️

Acrossthepond for me, wise, non judgmental and never preachy either, she’s carrying the scars that earned her wisdom and she never flinches away from showing her fragility either.
I have never read a comment from her and not been grateful that she posted because she shows compassion but always talks sense, and can also make me laugh out loud too, her friends IRL are very lucky …. Yeah, I’m totally a fan 🤩

Yeah I don’t really recognise regulars any more. Back in the Cod / Dolly days I knew lots of names. Who was that brilliant feminist high achieving single mum who just used to tell everyone never to be financially dependent on a man?

Are you thinking of Xenia?

I have been here since around 2006, but have just done a name change.
I always liked MarmaladeTwakins, but she has long gone.

MarmaladeTwatkins was also BitOfFun wasn’t she? Sadly no longer here

BigButtons · 03/10/2026 19:31

The old days yes- not now though

VerbenaGirl · 03/10/2026 19:47

I find the contributions of LIZS strangely reassuring. Her user name pops up and all feels well with the world.

SeraphionLightbringer · 03/10/2026 19:53

Me. I’m amazing.

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 03/10/2026 21:28

Didn't think you could talk about this on Mumsnet.
Not a easy subject to bring up.

Just choose the posts you are interested in. Be discerning. Swerve stuff that you think could be dross and drivel.

Life's too short to stuff a mushroom said Shirley Conran back in the day

Aw, thanks 💐

TubeScreamer · 03/10/2026 22:37

PigletJohn who gave me some fabulous advice several times years ago

i’m an old timer (2005) and don’t recognise many names these days. I always enjoy cod’s posts and still recognise her when she pops up every so often (albeit with different non-fishy names).

Jane143 · 03/10/2026 23:21

Arse in the Coop window- I find the name hilarious

tartyflette · 03/10/2026 23:38

FieldofMusic · 02/10/2026 20:06

Well there's certainly no shortage of them!

Would one of them be bupcakesandcunting? Haven’t seen them for a while.

newmommy2006yay · 03/10/2026 23:39

its wild how may old acc are here

GardenCovent · 03/10/2026 23:53

I think now that Mumsnet has grown so much and posters are a bit more savvy about name changing and watching what personal information they actually put it means that usernames are not as recognisable as they once were.
Ive been here 21 years but now regularly change my name and I dont recognise posters usernames unlike the old days which I personally think is a good thing.
Mumsnet was def ruled by certain posters with everyone fawning over them.

this is useful for me as a relatively recent joiner. I'm thinking of changing my name as it's a bit too similar to other SM names I've got elsewhere. What would you say about name-changing?

Meandthegherkin · 04/10/2026 00:35

Pagwatch - very sensible and very funny. Not seen the username in many years.

I left for a while then came back and the site feels so much bigger now. I think people have got more careful, I know I have. I think it makes the site feel like it has a bit less personality but it’s sensible internet behaviour.

FFSItsTooHot · 04/10/2026 01:48

I miss EatShitDerek. Also ToddlersTeas.

LuckyHazelFox · 04/10/2026 07:58

Any user that doesn't call other users cunts, for a start. Then there's the ones who don't have to hunt posters down in gangs, like school kid bullies. They are all decent posters, by default.
