You know the ones. You see their username and think, excellent, they’re here.

Who are your Mumsnet favourites? No smooching required, just appreciation. 😏

@GobbolinoAndSootica- I think it’s mostly if you spend time on particular boards other than AIBU and Chat. There’s a few posters I got to ‘know’ over the years because they had kids the same age - e.g. there was a long running thread series which started on the HE board when they were doing A levels and continued through uni and (intermittently) a bit beyond as some were doing med or further studies, obviously with people dropping out along the way. So I know that a few years ago Xenia’s twins were doing their solicitors training.

I meant to write, is it still a thing to know people. Definitely years ago - when MN was smaller - you'd know names more for just general posting and other posters mentioning them. Now I think this only occurs in specialist threads.

Haven’t seen AnyFucker around for ages. I love her delivery and blunt advice.

She shuffled off with tail between her legs I think after something to do with a second property if I vaguely recall?

Sparkletastic · 03/10/2026 09:37

GarlicEverything · 02/10/2026 20:53

Xenia! She briefly reappeared a few years ago, but I haven't seen her since.

Yes! Such good advice tbh. I miss her.

Applestroodle · 03/10/2026 09:42

I can’t say I’d notice if one person disappeared. It would probably run into thousands before I noticed a drop off. Even then I’m not sure.

Meteorite87 · 03/10/2026 09:42

OuterSpacePotato

Often seen giving stellar advice (sorry 😁) to Mumsnetters trying to escape bad relationships.

sherbetlemonade · 03/10/2026 09:42

I hang out on a couple of specialist topics and do see regulars on those, but the rest of the time I rarely clock usernames unless somebody gets a bee in their bonnet about something I said and unpleasantly disagrees with me.

ILikeDungs · 03/10/2026 09:44

I sometimes note names but not always.
But I can be reading a post and think "that must be so-and-so" and often am right
Always scroll on by if I recognise a poster who is a regular shit disturber

I miss R0wantree, such a wealth of information (she had the receipts!) and FloralBunting. Really gutted by the loss of MereDint.

PaintMeLikeYourFrenchGulls · 03/10/2026 09:53

MrsTerryPratchett.

I’ve commented previously on how fab she is. I change my name frequently, and I assume a lot of other people do too, so it’s harder to spot people now.

Notonmyland · 03/10/2026 09:59

All the posters who keep up the good fight for women's rights.

sherbetlemonade · 03/10/2026 09:04

Oh. I did wonder. That poster was so helpful on gardening all the time, then I went away on holiday and wasn't on MN for a few weeks. Got back, and after a while noticed there was no MereDint. What happened - was it a row with someone about plant apps?!

No, it was when MN changed their terms to try to prevent adblockers etc.

Zippidydoodah · 03/10/2026 10:11

Sparkletastic · 02/10/2026 19:48

Yeah I don’t really recognise regulars any more. Back in the Cod / Dolly days I knew lots of names. Who was that brilliant feminist high achieving single mum who just used to tell everyone never to be financially dependent on a man?

Xena?

Mysterian · 03/10/2026 10:11

I don't really bother looking at the names any more. Too many people nowadays. I remember when Mumsnet was all fields...

Aleveldilemma · 03/10/2026 10:18

I name change a lot and don’t often notice people’s user names now. I do remember Anyfucker though, I have been here since 2012!

Despite my name changes there’s one poster who frequently likes my posts. So o often wonder if we’d be friends irl.

PenguinofAntarctica · 03/10/2026 10:19

MereDintofPandiculation left due to the new ads/cookies policy, I believe it was last year. She did a thread in gardening explaining her reasons at the time.

@prh47bridgeis my all time favourite poster. I lurk on legal but never post.

Aleveldilemma · 03/10/2026 10:19

Oh also there are some people who post on a lot of the private school and boarding school threads and I am fascinated how they know so much about these schools.

Aleveldilemma · 03/10/2026 10:20

Also has anyone mentioned Xenia? Is she still around? She was always very upfront about women working, was a lawyer, had 5 DC who’d gone through private school and used to refer to SAHM as housewives 😂

Aleveldilemma · 03/10/2026 10:21

Zippidydoodah · 03/10/2026 10:11

Xena?

Ah yes I’ve just posted about here. Xenia.

Ilovewhippets · 03/10/2026 11:04

There was a poster I think called theincrediblescreamingnit who used to be be very up front but I haven’t seen her for many moons.

Lampzade · 03/10/2026 11:20

There area couple of posters who have been mentioned who I did not take to .
Some of their posts came over as rather insensitive

I'm a bit confused, I thought you were saying it isn't a smoke-up-peoples-arse-fest,

You said

@TheSunIsAlwaysThere · yesterday/Friday 22:33

This thread hasn't been a smoke up posters arses at all.

and I said that's exactly what it's been. Are you saying it has been a smoke-up-the-arse-fest - or not?

Sorry, I'm not being funny I'm just a bit confuddled! 😆

.

Edited

I meant what I said. In my opinion it hasn't been blow smoke etc as I've seen threads where they really have been. This feels more measured compared to those ones.

Clearly, you think it had been which is of course fine. You're entitled to your opinion. Just don't know why you're confused with what I said. You can disagree with me 🙂

Interestingly I know a lawyer like this. She has a house husband she always says. She's paid for five children to go through private school, paid all their university fees. I think her present house husband does a bit of architecture again. Keeps the house and garden nice, generally entertains his step children when they're home. He's a really nice guy.

RedRiverShore6 · 03/10/2026 13:05

Probably Blondehavemorefun on the telly threads, I would have missed a lot of series if it wasn't for these and even though I don't post much on them because I <whispers> binge and they are always NO SPOILERS, I enjoy reading them

Does she have a 40 acre garden?

ThatCyanCat · 02/10/2026 22:57

She admitted having a second home during Covid and her star fell.

I never understood why she was popular. People said she was so straightforward and helpful but all I ever saw was her haranguing women who had just received shocking news about their relationships and hadn't thrown him out and cut up his suits within thirty seconds. She also couldn't accept her young adult children's sexuality and thought she could dictate what consensual, legal activity they got up to in their own bedrooms with long term monogamous partners.

I remember that i also remember a cringey poster trying to defend her.actions because AF had " helped" so many women on mumsnet that she should have some kind of special rules just for her
Crazy covid times i guess!

leavesinthebreeze · 03/10/2026 13:35

I miss Hecate.

I would miss PigletJohn
